Instead of looking like a somewhat intimidating large tardigrade, it just looks like a very obese man wearing a mask.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.
I agree about the art

Well, it was originally planned to be bridge crew on the show, so...
That boggles my mind. I'm guessing psuedo-adopted vulcan would be telepathic translator for orders?
Just too messed up. Like bad Trek novel messed up.
EDIT: Here we go...

Oh Orci and JJs co-conspirator. Doesn't change my analysis except that it makes sense considering the source.
Into Bleh-ness.
With his hidden Diplomacy skill, which is going to be high enough due to being a two-skill Legendary, it's going to be possible to get:
Ripper refutes Q with a debate worthy of his best with Captain Picard and others. Q acknowledges the crew's victory.
It is official: the Tardigrade is a master debater who can beat Q.
That's pure Dogism/Catism!
Thanks for sharing that link. Do you remember which After Trek episode they talked about that in?

And then there's people like me who shudder at the thought of either being playable in game. I'll live with Ripper, he will never be a crew I'll try to get, but every time I see him, you can rest assured I will cringe at him.

5000% agreed. Like a lot of people questioned if we should venture into TAS and I say yes, we should have and I'm glad we did. Arex and Lucien are still humanoid and functional enough to be crew. Ripper though, that's reaching over the line into "now you're just being silly" territory.

I agree with you. I was being facetious...
I was looking for art more like this as well. They chose the absolute worst possible pose for that portrait to me, and THEN did a poor job of it. Also, I know he’s a big hulking, nearly unstoppable monster of sorts, but the Security skill makes him sound like he’s going around with a phaser, wearing a red shirt and standing in the background while Kirk, McCoy, and Spock do all the interesting bits.

In fact, it makes more sense than having a super-powered being like Q on your bridge crew. It's infinitely more sensible than Spot or Porthos.
This really was the crew I wanted most in the game by far:
Oct 10 - Oct 24 -
Though due to creating the character as from the uninformed initial perception of a couple other characters, missing essential appropriate skills and traits (ENG or SCI primary, pilot), and before the epic art has returned to do justice to the creature (with dark space blue/aqua hues like in the show: why jarring yellow lighting for nearly every new crew?) - I'll pass. Unless they come up in an event someday.

Oi! Spot and Porthos are sentient! And they can... navigate... sort of...
