My Picard was 5/5 already. I hit 50K honor for the last star on the fake Klingon from the discovery mega the same day they announced this event with Picard so I decided to push back the fifth star for the fake Klingon and wait until I got my week one Picard and use the 50K on him instead.
So, my first thought was YES!! I wanted this so badly I was considering the 50k in honor for it. My second thought was "oh man, so many people are going to be pissed!"
Same
Same here, and they are right to be pissed. If they wanted to do it right, they should have a certificate to pick a 5*.
Acknowledging that it's a relatively small sample as compared to the entire player base, since the poll opened it's been approximately 2/3rd of people responding who already had a 5/5 Mirror Picard. At 272 Votes:
For however representative this sample is, it gives some indication of how widespread this inequality is. Some players get something that has a certain value, everyone else gets 1/90.909090th of that value. Current honor values:
It's bad enough that all the game mechanics are dominated by the RNG and there is also a high degree of inconsistency in CS ticket responses. By choosing 1/5* Mirror Picard, this inequality was a foreseeable and inevitable result. It was also avoidable because there are currencies in the game already which could result in fair compensation. Fair meaning things that are of equal value to everyone, such as dilithium or citations.
There are players calling for another DB:DB, I have suggested that this issue of compensation inequality be considered in terms of the "better" that the community is asking for.
We are all downstream from each other and ourselves, therefore choose to be relaxed and groovy. Consider participating in civil discourse, understanding the Tardigrade, and wandering with the Subspace Eddies.
Like all 3 previous mega-event crew, my Picard was 4/5* and I was content to leave him like that. I chose not to spend money on the DYC offer, knowing other players would have an advantage because they chose to pay to FF him. I'd even give up the last star, if DB decided to swap out the compensation for something more equitable.
This was just an awful, awful decision on their part.

Unless they want to disincentivize spending money or honor... but that doesn't make sense...
