You’re right, there should be. “Cadet Johnson was killed by a Gorn”.

At least they toned it down. One of my early voyages lost a couple dozen when I recalled it 5 minutes later. I cringed when I calculated the cost of life my several hour voyages were exacting.

I ran a voyage other day for only three minutes and recalled it to switch crew. In those three minutes we lost a red shirt. So sad. If you are a red shirt be sure to stay on the ship or stand behind Kirk.

They should compile a list of ways red shirts died and then randomly assign one to each red shirt death:

Drained by vampire cloud
Vaporized by godlike alien probe
De-salted by salt vampire assault
Stepped on paradise's land mine
...etc.

This should be right up DB's alley; they seem to love all things RNG, after all.

I love it when I send out a 3 second voyage and I lose 6 redshirts.

Apparently, I must have forgotten to close the airlock when I left the starbase.
