Change to how the arena ranking works?

So something weird is happening to me recently. The last couple of days, every time I defeat anyone ranked in the top 20 or so the game tells me i’m #1 in the division and side enough that is my rank. In the past I could only get to first by beating whoever is #1. Is there some change to how the ranking works or is this a glitch? Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, me too. But it's only in the past few weeks that I've been able to reach the upper echelons, so I just assumed that's how it works.

No ranking in gauntlet is by points. You are number 1 if you have most points. I am recently winning also as my gauntlet crew has matured to include top hitters. :-)

K Han, I am talking about the arena, not the gauntlet.

Arena rankings are weird. You take whatever rank the person has at the conclusion of the battle. If they're fighting someone and get to rank 1 while you're fighting them, you'll take rank 1 from them.
