15th Faction?

I noticed during the server update this morning a very interesting glitch. I saw a 15th faction box on my faction area screen this morning, to the farthest right side on the right of the dominion/Xindus faction icon. I wish I had taken a screen shot. It had no icon and was obvious because it had very little progress bar (since I have them all completed to max.)

Speculation, but is it a precursor for another upgrade? If so, who could it be? ;)

    It's an artifact of the way they implement faction missions. They have a "pseudo-faction" that stands in for the event factions and tracks how many event shuttle missions have succeeded or failed. It's the way they ensure the event faction(s) start at 1 minute duration during the event, then go back to your normal duration once the event is over.

    The pseudo-faction is hidden during the event. If you keep the client running after the event ends, there's a bug that allows it to be visible in the UI until you next restart the client.

    Just a note: I had restarted my client several times since the event when it showed up today, so it is yet another server bug...

    Great explanation. I never gave it enough thought to figure out what was going on, just shrugging it off and rebooting, but that is exactly how the factions are handled.

    Borg assimilates every one. The faction store would be a trap and if I go there it will just take all my stuff away :)

    Isn't this a Galaxy Event?

    Why would they need to "track Shuttles" in a Galaxy Event?

    There should totally be a Borg faction in the game, surely there is more than enough Borg characters in the game now to warrant this?

    I've been saying we need a Borg Faction Center since the Mega Event.
