Yep. Alfadog is when you have been an in-game user for 365. Tribble is when you connect your in-game account to the forums.
Which leads me to believe it has to do with linking the old forums and the new forums need to be changed to address this.
Ah, so it's an old forum thing then? I didn't get the tribble when I linked my acct back then, so it must have stopped between October '16 and February '17

No I asked the same question about a half year back myself. I joined September 2016 or something and got the tribble last summer when I finally signed up and then unicorn doggie appeared on its own a few months later.
