Life after deciding to return to F2P

So, I decided to weld my wallet shut after DB and their faux pas dealing with the whole Christmas event fiasco, and then the Picard comedy of errors after it, and what should I see tonight but the little yellow buy button on my accounts showing that it was time to buy the monthly card again. Well, that is a HUGE NO WAY!!!! And it was actually very easy to do.

No more money, until Db started getting its act together, and acknowledged that they royally screwed up the handling of the whole Christmas even situation, and give a real compensation, not something that a large part of the community did not have the opportunity, or the ability to take advantage of. No more money for you, DB, until you figure out how to "DO BETTER!"

    Honestly, screw compensation. All this whining about “give me free stuff or else” is bull **tsk tsk**.

    DB just needs to run the game better, and improve their events, processes and customer service.

    Not bribe everyone to shut up.

    I'll give them my monthly card to keep the servers going and get a slow trickle of dilithium. If people want the hassle of spending money they're welcome to it.

    F2P is better anyway. Unless you are prepared to spend your mortgage money on this game - you will NEVER be truly competitive. This way, you get about the same entertainment without the hassle of being a slave to the game schedule, and if you don't remember to do something because you actually have a life it's no big deal.

    Thanks, DB, for forcing me to move on with my life. This game means nothing to me anymore, and will be treated as a mildly amusing diversion when I remember to open and play it. I am sure you can subsist on all the whales that pour tens of thousands into the game per month, and I have no problem with allowing them to pay my way from now on, too.
