DB please reply: 5 tiers of 5 purchasable crew slots?

what exactly does this mean. What tiers? how does it work, how do you purchase? Need more info cause I'm an Idiot. I just don't plain understand what is meant by 5 tiers of purchasable crew slots.

    You would only notice a difference if you had previously purchased all the slots you could and they are all full. Now you can buy chunks of 5 slots 5 more times.

    Crew Slots can be purchased in the crew management window.
    At the bottom of the window, right to the amount of crew you have, there is a + sign. Pressing on it will open the dialog for purchasing additional crew slots.

    It is not a number that you see.

    Yes. There is a maximum number of Slots we can have. Adding the five free Slots we all got, plus five sets of five we can buy pushes the maximum up by thirty.

    Shan, I know how to purchase crew slots since I have done it already. I don't understand your terminology of 5 Tiers. Tiers means levels. So to me that implies 5 levels of crew slots. What does that mean EXACTLY? I mean when I bought crew slots, I got 5 slots per purchase. So what am I missing here? Please put it so an idiot like me can understand cause from your wording, I take it there are 5 levels of crew slot purchases.

    There is a finite number of times you can buy 5 extra crew slots. They have added 5 more purchasable sets.

    You purchase in tiers/levels/batches/bundles/groups/sets of 5 slots (maybe tiers isn't the best term?). Before today the max you could have was 360 slots. The gave us 5 free and added 5 new tiers/levels of 5 adding a total of 30 more slots to the game for a possible max of 390.

    This. Five tiers of five means 25 new Slots, on top of the five free we all just got.

    Makes the total 390 now.

    I know how crew slots work, I just wasn't familiar with the "tier" terminology.

    Just their terminology for the sets of five you can buy. Maybe we need to add it to the Galactic Dictionary Thread. :)

    Sets or groups would be my recommendation, though frankly I picked up what you were putting down the first time.

    Tiers works correctly based on meaning and usage. The slots cost different amounts depending on how many you have. My next 5 will cost 350 dilithium. Others are at 3000 dilithium. Tier is appropriate.

    If they cost different amounts at each tier it would make more sense. Tiers is technically accurate but confusing based on a connotation of cost differential that folks may have.

    Were actual tiers added or just more ones that you can buy in the end?

    Yes. More were added to the max number. I believe the max cost remains 3K Dilithium per five......
