If they do really want to give out a legendary, I’d suggest giving out Locutus or Guinan. Not everyone has been able to get one since it’s based on RNG, and since it’s a random drop, it’s something DB already gives out - albeit not directly.

Better yet, if they would give away the crew that will replace Guinan in the Gauntlet. Everyone would then have them and use the Gauntlet for stars 2-5 :)

I can't wait to see all of the entitled children get their panties in a knot over another free card. The response to the free Picard was one of the most preposterous things that I have ever seen. How dare they give us free things that some people may already have? Now it's time for 2.0

They can avoid all of that just by giving a citation instead of a crew. I’m not sure why it is so hard for some forum posters to understand why that’s the fairest way to do it? Instead they feel the need to slam/attack other players on the forum? It really makes no sense to me.

It would be nice to see DB evolve and learn from their missteps rather than forever repeat them.

DB was fair, they gave us all the same thing. We were all better off after the free gift, nobody was hurt. I'm not the type of person that gets a free gift and whines about it. I don't like those kind of people in real life and I don't like them in this game. It's like giving food to a homeless person, only to have them say that they don't like it. I guess I’m just more tolerant of people who think or feel differently than I do and I don’t let things bother me.

Holy moly that deserves a standing ovation. Love the idea.

I think the response on some of the forums was over the top, but your argument basically seems to be, when life gives you lemons, thank life for giving you lemons... and don't have a sour face.

Free gifts aren't a bad thing. Free gifts are a good thing. They did not take away something from the players or it would be a completely different discussion.

I'm tolerant of different opinions if they are well thought out and explained (like yours with the citation idea), but whiny entitled attitudes are never acceptable in my opinion. Nothing good comes from that attitude and history has proven it time and time again.

I feel as though an advisory group of sorts wouldn’t be a terrible idea for planning future crew and events, or soliciting ideas about new features or game design. But it seems twee when we’re talking about nitpicking freebies and compensation for mistakes.

Agreed. My issue is that DB fails to respect its customers across many facets of the game.

If a restaurant had a no toilet (restroom) paper people would be aggrieved, and rightly so. Others might argue that the toilet is free and you shouldn't complain.

Perhaps, to be fair, the government should tax everyone the same amount.

Yeah, so you bring your own toilet paper and lo and behold these guys give out free toilet roll - after you've done your business! You need something a bit better as compensation, maybe some hand wipes that everyone can use?

They did take something from some players, parity.

  • A question... wasn't there a Q's choice reward back then that featured a legendary behold? I was just starting, so I don't remember so well, but I think that was the event I got my first Legendary ever, and it was in a behold that for me was Khan, Judge Q and Lt Cmdr Dax. Guess who won... After so many lifetimes, I just had to lead with my heart.

It was not a legendary behold but was a special curated pack like the 3/3 setup we see where the options were more limited. Players got several single pulls and then a 10x pull on that pack.

Gotcha, thanks for the answer :) Now to see if the same will happen this year :)

I don't see anybody complaining about having gotten a free gift. What I see is people complaining that others got a free gift that was worth more.

I can see how that can seem ungrateful.
But I also remember a friend years ago who worked really hard at a new job, and at the six-month review got the best possible raise: 25 cents an hour. He was proud.
But at the same time, minimum wage went up. Even thought they paid everyone better than minimum, the company raised what they paid new hires by 15 cents.
    Now he was pissed.
He had worked very hard to earn that raise, and he expected that to mean he would make 25 cents more than a new hire, not 10. Worse, someone hired a month after him who earned the same raise at their six-month review would be making 15 cents more than him.

They gave him everything they promised, but it was worth less than expected because of what they gave everyone else.

All I'm wundering is at this point (before I spend 50k Honor on his last star since he's 4/5 FE now): Will there be another copy of Mariachi Q as community reward?

If so, then please tell us in advance, so we can plan ahead and evade a second "Picardisaster". ^^

They might have given everyone the same thing but that thing had different value to different people.

For people who had not paid (using real or virtual currency) they had the chance to complete a legendary card - which is really hard to do within the game.

For people who had already paid (and people who did pay would have done so without any expectation of the free Picard as it is not something that had been done previously) they ended up either paying 50,000 honour or $25 equivalent for 550 honour.

Some people might have still paid to complete Picard if they had known but the vast majority of people would not have.

Still IMO DB did the correct thing by offering to replace the missing Picard with the honour equivalent for those who had a problem with this. Allowing people like yourself to sit happily with your 550 honour

I have a feeling that if there is a 5* in the Community Rewards it'll be CD Quark.

Grant, My issue was that it was misleading and false to be selling and promoting that people should DYS when it would be a gift to all. If they let us know the gift was coming, or stopped offering the DYS for the crew, it would be a different story. As an analogy: If you purchase a shirt at a store and then next week it goes on sale for $5, you can get a rebate for the difference. That is all people wanted, it is standard practice in every other industry save for huge capital purchases.

Being a computer programmer I suggest you grab a six pack.

I'm pretty sure Shan pounds, like, 5 shots of Jim Beam before starting each day on the threads.

I think a plane ticket to Colorado with some walking around money at some 'special' shops would be more effective.

Living on a border city I'm just used to American spelling of everything and most Americans not even being aware of the other (proper) spelling
