How often does the Time Portal get updated?

The last major update of the Time Portal was Oct 12th 2017. Do we have idea what the normal cadence of Time Portal updates is like?

There is no normal schedule. It's whenever they feel like it. Ideally it should be an automatic process that runs at the end of every month that says IF (card release date < (today - X time frame)) THEN (add to normal portal).

Maybe someday...

Perhaps if a new event character were available in the portal a month later people wouldn’t spend so much for the event character during the event. I could very well be wrong but that’s my thought on their philosophy

Usually, and I'm serious when I say this, the last few updates have been motivated by the forums directly asking the staff for it.

Now granted the guy who we would bug is no longer with the company, but Shan is still our champion and advocate.

However everyone seems to tag her 46 times each thread and harasses her about using sugar vs splenda in her coffee - so I'll hold of on starting the eventual thread.....
...for now.

But I do have a list. And I have checked it twice.

The premium portal should be auto updated every month, as described above by amphistaff.. but that doesn't mean that it would be this months cards going in at the end of this month.

It could be auto set to be like, 120 days (4 months) to the day with a daily check. Set attribute tag for each character that would exclude or allow.
(So the Borg Queen and he who likes to drink Earl grey by the mirror doesn't get scooped in to standard premium)

Not to mention that DB saying the portal was updated and the portal dropping new crew could occur weeks apart, because QC is an unnecessary expense apparently.

So by my calculations we are due for an update soon. But as Frank says, maybe we need to remind them about it.

I second the idea of having crew added automatically, after 3 months. But. I'm also in favour of having different portals because each time we have 50 crew added the portal pulls get diluted even more.

I'll also remind everyone that Voyages don't drop any of the 4 star crew added to the portal in October so Voyages may need an update at the same time as the portal.

Events are pushed with a server build. When other changes are pushed with the same server build, they're communicated with the event notes.
