Further incorrect missions in list
I have just filed yet another ticket relating to issues with item drop missions showing up incorrectly. This may be my sixth or seventh ticket on this issue. Details:
When building items, the missions showing up in the list as giving the component I need are often the wrong missions. When I was building Nexus Kirk's level 90 weapon, and it needed a 4-star Super Rare Casing. The top mission showing up was Deadly Disruptions, rated as 5/5 star likelihood. I warped 10 times and didn't get it once. Then had to reboot my phone, and when I returned, that mission wasn't even in the list! This has happened to me multiple times, and yes I've filed tickets.
I think items are showing in the list because that mission had the item as a rare reward, but since I already obtained it, it's no longer going to drop for me. But it's still showing in the list of missions!
After this many tickets it is clear this is happening system-wide.

I’ve seen this happen with 3* alcohol, with the mission that legit has the highest drop rate sometimes disappearing in favor of a duplicate listing of another mission. It comes and goes and it’s only a mild inconvenience to find and run the mission from the galaxy map.
The wiki also shows an ever so slight advantage in chrons per unit for Proof of Concept on Epic (E5-M10) over Hounded on Epic but both are far better than any of the other missions with 4* casings as standard rewards.
Ezri Dax: Oh, how to keep from breaking into tears for no reason...
Respone was always
"We have yet to receive widespread reports of this issue, however based on your report we will monitor for data specific to this issue, and submit any findings to the QA Team for investigation."
Its like there tons of fourm threads but hey its not wide spread
(Sorry starting to get bitter about all the glicthes/bugs and noone careing)
But they will probly throw you 300 chron for ticket, you got lucky tho to only run one x10, i ran 8or9 x10s and got the 300 lol
They've got to be friggin kidding me! Is NOBODY at DB playing their own game? Have they ever heard of QA? (well, past experience make that answer a "NO!"...).
Guess it's about time to change my Forum name once again. DO BETTER, DB!
The sorting was inherently wrong AND buggy since the introduction of sorted drop lists, and they NEVER bothered to listen to any of the complaints in the forum (and I bet tons of tickets), let alone even fix any of the problems.
As a result of the most critical problem (=ALL battle ship missions are sorted WAY too far below, probably by a drop chance factor of 2 or 3!), everybody not checking the wiki first is just clicking the first mission (which is almost always an Away Team mission), thus not only drowning in useless Nanopolymers, while Holoemitters are a huge starbase bottleneck - but also wasting hundreds of chronitons, especially for the rarer items. A "nice" example: 3* Synthesized Polymer lists "Turncoat Outpost" at the top - currently ranked #8 in the wiki, at 171 chrons per item. But the best mission is the Ship Battle mission "Shielding the Prey", listed at 27.2. That's a factor of 6!
To actually answer your question: I never experienced having missions shown that do not drop the given item (either standard or rare(!) reward). However, one of the other bugs is that more often than not, at the top of the list there will be one or more missions that once had that item as a rare reward, but which have long been three-starred since. So watch out for that (they should be marked as "rare" though, and have three highlighted stars).
Bug number 3 on the Top-3-most-annoying-drop-sort-bugs is that especially for missions that drop an item in two different difficulties (for example, 1* Polyalloy in Behind Closed Doors elite+epic), 50% of the time the game will list only ONE of those, and list it twice, and sort it incorrectly. So you have to exit the build tree, go to the Galaxy screen and warp there manually (provided you know which episode and mission it is...)
