Hi all, what makes more sense for citations, ff characters or only get them up to 3 out of 4 stars and hope that another copy comes along at one point. THX

Depends. Do you regularly pay to extend Voyages? If so, depending on how long you go with them on average, you will get a lot more 4* crew there. Do you buy premium pulls and/or event packs on a regular basis? Then you've got another opportunity to FF your super-rares.

If you're not doing either of those, then citations make more sense. But if you are wanting to use citations on a super-rare, it is pointless, in my opinion, to worry about "what if I FF them and then another copy drops the next week?" -- because that will happen at some point no matter how you get them FF. So may as well get them fully fused and enjoy them at their full strength sooner.

Now, that having been said, I personally would probably save your citations for those crew who aren't currently dropping in the regular loot table -- that is, recent event crew, and others who just haven't been added to the loot tables yet. For example, Commander Thelin from this past weekend's event -- it will be quite some time before he's dropping in regular packs or in Voyages, so if you had him at, say, 3 stars, then buying a citation for him now would be smarter than buying a citation for somebody like Disguised Tuvok, for instance (because he would be more likely to show up in a pack or in a Voyage).

As you sounded like you were only asking advice about super-rare (4*) crew, none of this takes into consideration anything having to do with buying citations for legendaries.

There are too many things to consider, e.g.:

- Do you have crew space issues?
- Which rarity of crew are you citing, only 4*s or also maybe 5*s and 3*s?
- Do you plan on using the crew for a longer period or are they weak on your roster?
- Is the crew old or so new they are not in the portal pool yet or are they unique crew (e.g. Voyage-reward-only crew)?
- How many 4* crew do you already have FF?
- What would be your main reason for adding stars?
- How much Honor do you own?
- etc. etc. etc.

Personally, I buy 4* citations for:
- New crew who are therefore not part of the current portal pool (e.g. Threshold rewards in Faction events ... though not Commando Shran because he's old! - but I did get one for Mother Horta and froze that crew right after the event).
- Unique crew (e.g. added 2 stars to The Clown recently).
- Weak 3/4 crew if I'm in desperate need of crew slots (usually not the case - options for me are T'Mir, Liaison Torres, Captain Janeway, APU 3947 etc. etc.).
- I own approx 120k in Honor, so 1 citation is always easily purchased.

Thanks for the input. Okay, I am f2p player,crew is full (85 slots, but can make up some free if necessary). My voyages around 5 hours in general. I'm only talking about super rare, legendary i need at least 3 stars (150k honor). I have one citation for a super rare waiting and about 11k honor available.

My lvl 100 crew so far (4*)

4/4: miror sato, graduation burnham, celeb tyler, buster kim, mirror la forge, reinforcement stamets
3/4: mirror phlox, lt. Tyler
2/4: sarek
1/4: waitres ezri, lt. tarah, duras sisters, miror garak, first officer saru

A 4/4 voq is at lvl 90, a 3/4 commando shran at 80, a 3/4 mother horta at 70, a 3/4 mirror uhura at 60, and a 3/4 klingon o brien and duelist yar at 50.

I've highlighted those that MIGHT be handy to cite:
- Sarek - maybe, as a general boost to crew quality, but a last option really, just leave at 2/4.
- Mother Horta - for freezing purposes.
- Duelist Yar - for freezing purposes ... get her to 100 anyway as 3/4, she'll help out SEC on voyages and is okay in Gauntlet if you need help there.

The others are just not worth it ... either they are good as is (Mirror Phlox, Lt. Tyler) or need too many resources to make decent (Garak, Saru), or are part of the portal pool (Uhura ... though also a candidate to freeze asap if you do not intend to use her in Gauntlet).

Anyway, some initial considerations and I'm sure others will provide you with better insights.

EDIT: If you are not pressed for space, just save the citation for the next new Threshold crew in a Faction event, it could be a while though, as up next is Hybrid (threshold will be FF), Galaxy (same) and then maybe (hopefully) a re-run (possibly no new crew).
