5 day events on holidays.

I am not a fan of the extended events on holidays. I don’t think my fleetmates are either. We’ve been conditioned to expect 4 day events. I just assume that’s what they are at this point. Had no idea this one would keep going. Columbus day is a whatever holiday if it were a real family holiday I would definitely not want to be stuck with a 5 day event.

On full events, I agree. Hybrids actually I think need 4 for the 2 phase. Full on galaxy, just shrink phase II, but I'd think that would not be fun for hybrid.

Agreed.
Personally, I think events are too long as they are already, even without extending them on holidays.
Strongly agree!
Shortening events would only put us all more on the razors edge and at the the mercy of the RNG.
*hugs Princess Trista for the idea*
If the schedule is for DBs benefit, consider that there are many organizations do not have the luxury of shutting down completely, including multinational companies. Asking for volunteers to have someone oversee the event launch (or whatever reason justifies the current Wend start) would not be unreasonable & may not even require a full day. While many patriotic Americans are sitting down to eat Thursday, it may be considered "more American" to go to work on the holliday (I've done it myself more than a few times).
HOWEVER, honestly, I've also done the work on the holidays thing. Including tech support for a PC manufacturer on Christmas morning.
Offer a competitive shift differential and go on a skeleton crew. Make it volunteers first and only force a bare minimum folks if it's necessary. Otherwise hell you've got the event running DURING the holiday and can't respond when things go south if its not right at the first.
And hell, so many other things on the game work on timers, you can't tell me someone actually pushes a button to start the event. It's already on a timer. Just need a skeleton crew to babysit.
And some DB folks did have to work Friday... that's how we got our event notice.
So then why have an event at all during the holiday if you aren't there to support it? It's not like their office is in their data center either. They're remote to their data regardless (unless they are running this like a 90s dot.com.
