New technique for kickstarting

Hey all, I had the previous forum post bookmarked but had my computer replaced. Does anyone have a link (or the method) for a kickstart after the recent faction event changes that they can direct me to? I know previously I found it in the middle of a massive thread and can't find it again now
Thanks

Open 18 missions.
Complete 11.
Open 11 and run with 90-minute time boosts.
Complete 2.
Open 2 and run with 120-minute time boosts.
Complete 11.
Run the remaining missions at 2VP.
Gets you to 2250VP.
Edit: This makes sense to me. If this doesn't make sense to you, see a better explanation below.

Yup
Yes, and the 4* boost reduces by 2 hours.
I have 4 shuttles so it goes like this:
Open 18 ... run 6.
open 6 ... run 4 with 1* boost ... they take 10 minutes, down from 40 mins (i.e. time to power level the new Burnham that you just obtained).
when done open 4 ... run with 3* boost.
run the 2 you had left with 1* boost (takes 10 minutes).
run the rest with the 2 other shuttles you have left ... they'll all approx be ready in those 10 minutes ...
open 4 and run ... you're at 2250 VP if all have been successful.
You lose out on 6x(350-125) VP --> 1350VP ... i.e. less than half a shuttle at 4000VP i.e. negligible.
You are using 6x 1* boost and 4x 3* boost.
At a later stage last event I ran one set of 4x 3* boost on 4000VP shuttles and went 3/4 ... I only had 8 when the event started so couldn't do the method mentioned by others ... as I said, found it nice to use some of the 100+ 1* boosts I had sitting around.
Just in case you are low on 3* shuttle boosts (or even 4* ones like Cadet Matt suggests) ... but Matt's does work a lot quicker and you do get more VP out of the boost.
(The main drawback is that I think you just don't make it to the first 4* crew reward and with Matt's version you do ... I can't be 100% certain about this though ...).
Anyway, it works, is a more budget version and over a whole Faction event you're likely to lose more VP due to bad RNG than not ramping up fast enough.
Not totally sure how this works
Open 18 missions.
Complete 11. --> down to 7 missions
Open 11 and run with 90-minute time boosts. --> still 7 missions
Completed 2. --> down to 5 missions
Open 2 and run with 120-minute time boosts. --> still 5 missions
Complete 11. --> do you open another 6 more missions to get to 11?
Run the remaining missions at 2VP.
I'm not saving 3* boosts ... I don't have them! (well, I have 10 this event)
... during faction events and daily login rewards you get a bunch of 10x pull packs for standard shuttle boosts. I've opened all those and over time all the 1* and 2* boosts have just piled up.
I'm not suggesting you go out and buy those packs ... but I'm sure there are beginner players who maybe have not had the change to run much Elite cadets on Thursdays but have been able to run a ton of Normal missions ... so they should have 'em handy.
Good point, those numbers don't quite seem to add up?
The numbers are right, it's just worded weird:
Open 18, run 11
You now have (7) 1min remaining
Open 11 90min, run 2 with 3* boost
You now have (7) 1m and (9) 90m
Open 2 120min, run both with 4* boost (open both first or second won't be 120!)
Run all remaining
Edit: By run all remaining, I of course mean run the 9 90s with 3* boosts (and the 7 1s with 1/2* boosts if you have em). If you can't remember what a missions time is actually if the display bug hasn't been fixed, tap the vp on the rewards in the mission screen to see what it's worth: 350vp is 90
Yeah, this is probably better-worded.

I don't believe this is a reversion, it just happens to be a re-run of an event from back when there were 10 unique missions per faction.
Spend lots of money or flop
Gets you to 1500VP missions
1. open 12, run 11
2. open 11, run 2 of them with 3* boost
3. open 2, run 2 of them with 4* boost
4. run 1 original mission
5. run 9 remaining missions with 3* boost
This gave me 25 missions completed, which allowed me to launch a wave of missions @ 1800 points, with a bit of a buffer for future failed missions. I ran that wave with 3* boosts, with posted success rates above 96%.
This kickstart required 11 x 3* boosts and 2 x 4* boosts, not including any boosts added to 1800+ point waves of missions.
It remains at 90mins with 11, so you can run/open/run 11 instead of 10.

Right, right... the posted stand-alone mission success rates are meaningless, since DB takes every shuttle mission being run by every player into consideration, plus the random impact of RNG... makes perfect sense.
No techniques for kick-starting can be discussed when the starting position is variable and not as advertised.
