    I second this entirely
Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.

But keep in mind, they probably wouldn't put Locutus in the faction store because he is a gauntlet prize or has been.

There's a lot of crew for this possible faction, so getting a Locutus is still very lucky and you'd have to pay 15'000 Dilithium for just one copy of him. ^^

  • I like the idea...but the only thing is that visiting anything Borg usually ends up in being assimilated...therefore I won't take the risk of visiting the Borg faction...yikes  (kidding)

Also about Locutus ... you will get a free Locutus when you hit 20'000 Gauntlet fights, so eventually you will get him anyway. So he's not "that" rare anymore and could therefore be made available in a faction shop.

The borg aren't known for being friendly merchants.

Honestly, the KCA either, or the Dominion (except maybe for the Karemma). This is about diversity mainly, in my opinion. :)

Just call it the Rogue Borg faction, aka those separated from the Collective: Hugh, Icheb, Seven, etc.

Whatever, I just think a Borg faction would be cool with new items which are very hard to get right now make it possible to collect them by running shuttles.

    "Unimatrix Zero"
  • Yes, yes, yes, YES!!! Please for the love of God make this happen, DB! I’ve been saying this since I started playing the game and I’m sure many others were also saying before me, so please, PLEASE, Shan, anyone listening at DB, MAKE THIS HAPPEN!! Ok, sorry for the shouting.
Weirdly enough, I’m also Vulcan Housewife. Also, RNGesus hates me, like really, REALLY hates me.

This would neatly solve the lore complications of introducing the Borg proper as a faction. Plus it was already well-established as a factor in STT with the Borg mega-event.

The one thing about such factions is that they generally seem to want to have factions in pairs or triples, corresponding to mission episodes - Klingon/Augment, Maquis/Bajoran/Cardassian, Ferengi Alliance/Traditionalists, Terran Empire/Section 31, and KCA/Romulan, to give the list so far. And the flavor text in current Hirogen and Dominion missions (in which the two factions clearly are each other's most significant rivals) suggests that DB has it in mind for the next episode to be Hirogen/Dominion.

So if they did add a Unimatrix Zero faction, they'd either have to have yet another faction to pair it with, or work it into the hypothetical Hirogen/Dominion episode.

Honestly, I think DB is keeping their powder dry for potential Discovery factions. But nothing necessarily stops them from pulling Unimatrix Zero into that mix, either.

It seems that the Federation is not partnered with anyone. The Borg were once a huge threat to Starfleet. That could work

Since in this game the timeline is jumbled together, it's a perfect opportunity for the Borg to intersect with characters from the time of Discovery. Perhaps Unimatrix Zero people are running from the Borg Collective and asking other more friendly factions for help. We could have these two Borg factions, like we have the Ferengi Traditionalists and Ferengi Alliance. Ambassadors for Unimatrix Zero could be Seven and Axom (Seven's Unimatrix Zero boyfriend).

Thanks for bringing this up, Eris! I've been hoping for a borg-specific faction (or 2?) too.

For that matter, why don't we have any real 1 or 2 star Borg? Seven doesn't count. How about a 2* Borg drone? They are common. Weak or non-existant security, med, deplomacy, and command, but good for science and engineering.
  • JhamelJhamel ✭✭✭✭✭
Medical Drone ... would easily pass all MED cadet nodes. :D

You could rule out command and diplomacy, but the other four skills are all doable for a drone. Different drones have different roles, and presumably the borg have some medical knowledge and have some drones with medical ability to program the alcoves to regenerate biological wounds.

I agree that they have medical drones, but I would argue that the standard drone has no medical skill. I might argue that the standard drone can fight and fight well, but cannot be considered security since they have no individual thought and don't prevent issues, only fight on command.

None on this matters, of course. The good folk at DB are only interested in four and five star characters.
  • ClanofClanof ✭✭✭
By that logic you can't really consider the standard drone to have science as a skill either. It's not like there are borg labs with borg scientists doing undirected research and making new scientific discoveries.

I guess most of the basic drones would have security and probably engineering or medical ... which would make an interesting combination (SEC-ENG-MED) for a cadet.

The Borg Faction could be based on the free colony of Borg and Unimatrix Zero with any characters that had escaped or freed themselves from the collective but remained Borg. Not nameless drones.

A nice chance to bring Axum and Korok from that episode in as featured faction crew. :)

That would be nice. DB needs to tap into the potential of the Xindi. Heck, maybe it could be a faction that wasn't just Xindi, but other belligerents in the Temporal Cold War, like the Nahkul and Suliban.

Well, the Xindi are somewhat integrated into the Dominion faction right meow (for example the Kemeowcite). :)
