Just click on your user name on the right hand side of the banner at the top: that should take you to another screen where you can see the option to change your picture on the right hand side.

You can't do it on the mobile version of the site. If you click "Full site" from the side menu you can though, and it still works fine on mobile anyway.

I did it.

From talking with someone else, I learned that it's apparently harder to access several of the profile edit features on mobile, so I would suggest doing this at a computer.

First go into "Edit Profile" in the drop down, here on the right...



Then at the right hand side, choose "Change My Picture"...



And browse to where you have the image saved that you want to use for your avatar...

You can even skip all that and click on the button that says "Change Picture" at the top of the current avatar.
