Forum rules question regarding closed threads
Would someone in a position of authority (e.g. a forum moderator?) respond with the official rules regarding threads and their closures? SPECIFICALLY, how many threads about a general and/or specific topic may exist before they are closed by mods? Does it vary depending on if the topic paints DB in a positive or negative light? Does it vary depending on the VIP level of the OP? I'm sure it would put to bed a lot of people's frustrations about why certain decisions are made.
Note - Since I am old and jaded, i guess I gotta add this...I don't really consider sending me a link to the Terms of Service helpful. In fact I would consider it a blatant and honestly, comical cop-out. But if that is all anyone is willing to do, i suppose it is better than nothing. Let's take a step in the right direction...towards communication.

I tried to send a PM to Shan earlier, but there’s no option. I don’t want to leave a comment on her profile, but that seemed to be the only option?
Perhaps someone in a position of authority could create an "example post" about how we should properly provide "constructive criticism". I don't want any passionate fans to get censored or outright banned if it can be avoided.
To me, that means copy and pasting the same message into a new thread. Or maybe even just saying the same point over and over again, even within a single thread.
I can’t see that either of these have happened. The main thread got closed off while many people were making separate points of conversation. There were no other threads about this issue that could be classed as duplicates.
I don’t feel I made the same point twice in different places?
To me, there’s a big difference between repetitive and expanding or elaborating, which is what feels like is being stifled here.
I have previously posted that I believe that virtually nothing DB has done has been implemented competently. Not one thing. A negative comment. This falls foul of the rules. I have suggested improvements. E.g. have an event crew filter, prior to an event, so that mistakes in the list can be corrected before the event starts. Positive feedback. Contributing meaningfully. A good idea? Checks and balances. Such suggestions are ignored. This being one of many suggestions I have made.
The list of ships in the voyage implementation screen should be ordered by total antimatter. No programmer worth their salt would have implemented such an unordered list. No manager would have accepted it. Negative comments? When the suggestion was made to have it ordered by total antimatter, nothing was done. A 5 minute job that would save your players time and reduce the possibility that they may make a mistake ignored. The thing is that I don't know why.
One way you could respect your customers is to do what I ask. I have lots of small changes to proffer. It would make a lot your customers happy guaranteed. I have played 2 accounts for about 2 years. I have been a systems analyst, programmer, software project manager for about 30 years. If there is a good reason not to implement a change fine.
The problem is that I think that DB does not want to improve or get better. I don't know what the solution to that problem is? Talk to me Black Pebble.
For those of that do not use alot of big words
It boils down to your not allowed to say anything that DB disagrees with, or might make them look bad to incoming paying customers

That's a PM. You can add more people to it once you click on it, but unless you do, it will only be between you and the recipient. The section to leave a comment on their profile is below, in the big box marked "Activity".
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

Thanks for the help, but I don’t see that option anywhere.
I’m viewing on mobile phone and it has been suggested I try full desktop mode, but when I’ve tried this before my browser or the website seems to get very confused and ‘pops’ back into mobile view as soon as I click anything.
As most web traffic is now from mobile devices I wouldn’t expect this to really be a problem anyway, especially as these forums are still relevant new.
Oh! I thought you were on desktop or I would have tried to help. I have only once viewed this forum on desktop, and I think it was because I was playing around with someone else’s computer. No wait, it was an iPad. Scratch that.
If you scroll up (without being in a text box, I just tried to double check while in here because I am an idiot) the bar on the bottom will come up from the bottom of the screen.
Tap the button in the red circle.
Then it’ll bring up your inbox. I’d rather not post a screenshot from there, since I do have things in my inbox.
In the upper right hand corner of your inbox, there is a “New Message” button. Tap that, then it will take you to a screen where you can begin searching for your intended recipients. It’s not unlike using the @ symbol on here... but less problematic in many ways.
Then, the rest, if I recall correctly, is rather self-explanatory.
