Upgrading a character doesn't update their base stats until you restart the game

I noticed the other day that when I upgraded my 2/5 Leonardo da Vinci to a 3/5 via a citation, his base stats remained at their 2/5 level until I restarted the game. The bonus stats column, however, was correct the entire time.
Not a showstopper, but definitely confusing at first.
EDIT: I've been told that clicking on another character, and going back to the upgrading character will also show the profile correctly.
