How Do I Change Bridge Crew Without Going Into Fleet Screen?

Can anyone help with this? I looked everywhere. I changed the crew in the Arena but it didn’t change them when someone clicks on my Captaincy

    Go to a ship mission on the galaxy map, "travel" and when the screen comes up to select your crew put in who you want. You don't need to actually play the mission. It's a bit of an awkward way, but AFAIK the only way to do it.
