"An unexpected error has occurred" in cadet callenges

While doing the "Talk Less, Smile More" mission on Elite difficulty, during the fourth node the game locked up with the error message "An unexpected error has occurred. If the issue persists, please contact player support."
I tried the mission a second time, and it locked up during the third node.
I had to quit both times, and now I'm not going to finish my "Complete Cadet Challenges" daily mission or the "Complete All Daily missions" mission since neither attempt counted.
I'm not going to bother submitting a support case over 200 honor and 60 chrons, but something funky is going on.
