Skirmish Suggestions

I sent this as feedback to DB but I wanted to post here so we can get some community discussion:
I like the Skirmish event except that it is a bit tedious and grindy. Some thoughts on spicing things up:
1) Randomize the encountered ships more - facing the same ship lineup over and over makes it so that once you have a strategy in place, just use it repeatedly ad nauseam. Same teir of ships in the lineup but just different ones periodically.
2) Give more reward for more risk by allowing the player to apply mutators to the event. Right off the top of my head is that you can add +100 base VP reward (without Intel increase) for each crew the opposing ship is allowed to have (up to its max). Meaning that in the Epic league you can get a +400 base VP (for a total of 900 or 1800 doubled per skirmish) by taking the increased risk of the 4 opposing crew. The crew could be either configured in advance for the event OR can be randomly picked from the Arena configurations. Get someone in the Arena using the same ship and has all the crew slots configured and use it.
3) Add a hull hitpoint increaser to the opponents as the player's overall VP total increases. So the opponent's hull would be hull + VP (for example). Meaning that once you reach 100k VP the current final fight would be 892K hull to beat increasing its difficulty. This would help keep people out of the stratosphere for VP.
4) Fleet stats/leaderboard and some reward (mostly bragging rights) - include wins, losses, VP, etc... Same could be done with squads (the more stats, I mean)
5) Finally, this would present an opportunity to do neat squad 'raid' style activities. Very difficult missions that require successes by squad mates in order to proceed OR may incur penalties later on. To clarify, think of the Episodes and a story that progresses but the results of the parts in the story have impact later in the story. For example, 4 of the 5 squad members win their objective. The next set of objectives could have a modifier to hull hitpoint because 1 of the squad members did not succeed.

1) kill or allow us to click through the animations, these were 2/3rds the time, so I literally ended up wasting hours watching repetitive animations. PLEASE kill them, including the RED ALERT pre-battle graphics
2) How about adding more battles, but increasing the challenge of each battle so they stop being automatic wins, and at least rely on changing strategy (more evasion/dodge cloaks/more hull regen, etc). Having it so that you actually were in danger of losing battles would be really exciting.
There needs to be some kind of incentive to play Phase 1. Maybe a new tweak on Community Rewards?
Suggestions:
The main Event Screen where one can see the rewards and status.
During the battles/bonus screen (Nice to know how much Intel I have, as I'm earning more)
Rewards screen (Especially after ship battles where one earns Intel)
Skirmishes are basically a single-player, single-route raid where, between rounds, you can apply heal (hull repair instead of gifts) and would make an ideal event to expand into a squadron event whilst not punishing non-fleet players.
For non-fleet players I'd suggest upping the number of nodes, retain damage to the enemy vessel in a node when you've lost, and have the Boss node be a beefy ship that'd take multiple attempts to take down. And once finished, it's finished, with prizes reflecting that you can't farm the event.
Gives DB something to monetize (repairs) , removes repetition and timezone issues as well as complaints over event duration. It would also recognise many events are played as 'threshold and out'
For fleet players, you'd have a squadron level with the difficulties ramped up accordingly, and with several routes to the boss node, which would be suitably beefed up to recognise you'd have several players having several turns at breaking it down.
Community prizes could be handed out based on the overall level of damage inflicted, and scoring would be the sum of (damage handed out) - (damage received.)
It would also give DB a templated event - have the number of nodes and paths static, including the relative difficulty, and then drop in the ships on the nodes. Don't even need an internal plot, just the usual wrapper you get with events.
It would obviously time to implement - for example, you couldn't have people swapping squadrons - but I think (others may disagree) it'd add something to the game, help push DB's previously stated desire to make the game more social and provide a refreshing change in events whilst giving DB other avenues to make money.
