2 Borg Cubes going at it for #1 rank. We destroy each other at the exact same time but defense wins? I scored more damage and better hits, that should be some form of tiebreaker.

There's a longstanding naval tradition to the effect that if your ship blows up, killing all hands aboard, you lost.

I've had a few battles where we destroy each other. Sometimes I get the victory, and sometimes they do. I think it's whoever gets the killing blow first, but the match doesn't end for another few milliseconds, so a last shot can be landed, "killing" the victor, too.

Yeah, "tie goes to the defense" is a very common notion.

Yeah, "tie goes to the defense" is a very common notion.

Rather than call it a tie, which in essence it is, you need to survive to claim the victory, which he didn't. Hence, you can't take his rank if you aren't alive to claim king of the hill.
