Is Lt. Tyler really the Klingon Voq?

There have been some arguments to that fact. Being as the actor billed as playing Voq (Javid Iqbal) hasn't really ever been heard of before and that the actor playing Tyler's last name by birth (not his stage name) is the same as Voq's actor. (Tyler is played by Shazad Latif, aka Shazad Khaliq Iqbal)

  • Guys, the same actor has played multiple roles in the past. Maybe that is what is going on here.

There are multiple hints for that on screen as well. Also something Lorca said to him in the latest episode...
  • I think so. The last episode gave a lot of hint to it.

What also points to that is everyone makes a huge deal that he survived for 7 months. Unscarred. But notice too that was on L’Rells ship who was Voq’s right hand girl. Still though, they keep showing scenes of Tyler reliving his torture experience and being traumatized from it so that tells me no, he’s just a dude. A human dude

Speaking of this 'non existent' actor, look on Startrek.com: no link to the actor on Voq's page, also no picture. Here, for Tyler there is a link to the actor.
