A forest of 1/4*s and the axe is being sharpened...

Hi guys,

Over the last couple of months I have acquired a load of 1/4* crew which are further down my priorities for levelling. I am also maxed out in crew space so I was looking for some advice as who would be safe to airlock (I am not sure on rarity of drops, etc.):

Assimliated Tuvok
Mirror Garek
Commander T'Pol
Lon Suder
Automated Unit 3947
Niners Kira Nerys
Claiborne Chekov
Forra Gegen
Klingon Quark
Gralik Durr
Warship Yar
Vic Fontaine
Kazon Seska
AoS La Forge
Mirror Ezri Tigan
Sybok
Lieutenant Valeris
RAF Julian Bashir
Danara Pel

    Well, I can say Klingon Quark would be at the front of my chop list.

    The only one you should not discard, imo, is Lieutenant Valeris. She is a beast in the Gauntlet.

    Odd outliers characters who aren't very likely to be featured in an event are probably the safest to discard. That's - currently - Lon Suder, AU3947 (unless you need someone with Quantum Mechanics), Forra Gegen, Kazon Seska, Vic Fontaine, Gralik Durr. They are all safe-ish (although AU gets a bonus in Android events, Fontaine in Hologram events, Durr in Xindi events).

    Danara Pel and Sybok were featured in a single event and aren't especially likely to get a second time to shine. They are both disposable - especially Sybok, who is a reminder of the existence of Star Trek V.

    Of the other crew... Claiborne Chekov isn't very strong, Mirror Ezri is one of the weakest 4*, Klingon Quark is very difficult to level up. They'd be all on my airlock list, unless you really like one of them.

    Keep RAF Bashir. One of, if not the, best 4* MED

    To me Assimliated Tuvok and Klingon Quark are quite valuable in Voyages (FF-FE of course).

    I tend to keep the main protagonists from the series as DB love recurring main crew events; out of these I would keep Tuvok, T'Pol, Kira and Bashir.

    Other maybes include La Forge & Quark (both pains to level), Valeris (a gauntlet beast) and Yar (high base SEC).

    Yeah, keep the main casts + Warship yar and Kazon Seska. - but mirror Ezri's is expendable also as she doesn't always count for a dax and keep Garak as he practically was main cast. (But sadly was not) and there will be more Garak events in the future.

    Here are the tiers of how I think about them:

    Great in Gauntlet, need only 1 star anyway: Keep
    Valeris

    Core crew with rare traits (sci/eng/med) Keep all of them.
    RAF Julian Bashir
    Assimliated Tuvok
    Commander T'Pol
    AoS La Forge

    Core crew with basic traits only (cmd/sec/dip) Keep as desired
    Mirror Garek
    Niners Kira Nerys
    Claiborne Chekov
    Klingon Quark
    Warship Yar
    Mirror Ezri Tigan

    1-off crew with rare traits (sci/eng/med) Keep/cut based on gaps and needs
    Sybok Despite what others say, I recommend keeping, high Dip/Sci/Med, is great in voyages.

    Go with stats, then event usefulness, that should clear things up. Obviously, keep the characters you love.

    These crew have base core stat ~800 and worth considering keeping.
    Warship Yar 856 SEC
    Assimilated Tuvok 834 SEC
    RAF Julian Bashir 823 MED
    Kazon Seska 798 ENG
    Age of Sale La Forge 794 ENG

    And these are 3 stat with either decent FF total voyage stats or unusual combination
    Sybok 2200+ and DIP, SCI, MED is useful
    Assimilated Tuvok 2200+ but meh DIP, CMD, SEC (event upside)
    Niners Kira Nerys 2200+ but meh DIP, CMD, SEC (event upside)
    Mirror Garek Total 2100+ but meh DIP, CMD, SEC (event upside)

    Possible voyage crew but not really good enough long term
    Automated Unit 3947 2103 ENG/SCI/SEC
    Lieutenant Valeris 2080 SEC/SCI/CMD also gauntlet stopgap
    Forra Gegen 2086 ENG/SEC/SCI
    Lon Suder 2070 SEC/SCI/ENG

    Crew that just don't cut it either subpar base or weak voyage totals
    Klingon Quark (barely over 2k, very difficult to level)
    Claiborne Chekov (event upside)
    Commander T'Pol (event upside)
    Mirror Ezri Tigan (event upside)
    Danara Pel
    Vic Fontaine
    Gralik Durr

    Lots of good advice here that I will not repeat. But I'll add that I would take a chance and keep a spot warm for Vic Fontaine. Aside from being the epitome of cool, I am willing to bet he shows up as event crew sooner or later. Heck, if the Orion Slaver can get featured, Fontaine is certainly an eventual lock.
