Just took me about 7 minutes to hit threshold. I can't see how this event could possibly be stretched out to cover a weekend without some major changes.

Agreed. This event is just a resource sink, and a tedious one at that. Unless you're really prepared to throw your resources away to rank higher, there's absolutely no reason to put the effort in. Threshold and done for me, every single time. But at least it won't take long.

This beta is better than the first attempt but it's still a complete failure all round. But still better than voyage events.

I've encountered a bit of a bug. I often get interruptions to the game when I leave the range of the WiFi signal and my phone switches on to mobile data, which I'm pretty sure was what happened, but they don't normally cause things to break as badly as this.

Basically, one of the missions on the display stopped being able to be used; I could get as far as allocating a crew but if I tried to start or warp it I got this message:

And at the same time one of the others (possibly the one which the one that had become unusable was due to be replaced with) reset to Level 1. Also, from that point on, when the bonus for main mission progress was a slice of extra VP, it always came in amounts with a 3 on the end (though maybe that's intentional?).

Non-bug feedback: Very glad to see community rewards. Other than that, the QoL improvements are welcome but in the end just emphasise how much of a clickfest this is. If you have a halfway decent roster and have stashed a couple of thousand chronitons there's no need to be strategic at all, just spam away. Personally, I would still choose this over galaxy as the spam-clicking is more streamlined, but that's not saying much as galaxy is by far my least favourite event type.

Bring back expeditions. (joking not joking)

I like the addition of community rewards however I’m just “meh” on the rest of it. Although I’m sitting on a ton of chronitons I’m using them to start each mission, not to speed them up. I’m happy to take the slow route as the rewards this time don’t excite me. Maybe that will change in future iterations. I am happy I’ll be able to finish the Emil card though.

I’ll echo bring back expeditions, please.

Where's my dilithium for the top threshold reward?

  • Just to get a bare-minimum smidgen of Honor, I have used my most middling crew (ones I know won't be used elsewhere) in this event, and am just letting the timers run out without doing any quick completions (even though I have plenty of chrons stashed away). Anything else is more than I'm willing to give to this otherwise pointless event type.

While the overall experience is much improved and clearer from the first go around, my review remains the same: fun for a midweek event break, but for an actual event weekend is just a faction event with a different appearance.

    - WASTE OF RESOURCES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REWARDS
    - very tedious, unlike faction all missions have a different length, so all missions end at different times; to start new ones you have to check every few minutes for 2-4days

    Tips for improvement:
    - come big in rewards (not the usual standard stuff): honor, quantum, cites, beholds/begolds, voyage token (Voyage events drain them fast)
    - same fixed length for all missions

It's great if you just want to threshold and out in 15 minutes Thursday afternoon and have the rest of the weekend off, but I can't say it was interesting at all.

Unless one has a strong roster it’s not worth the bother. My main account is strong enough that I can commit crew to a 12 hour voyage and have other crew available to do this event. This time I was able to make threshold before the mid way point without speeding up missions. My alt account is not nearly as strong and it struggled.

Anyone with a still developing roster at least has a chance with galaxies if they plan far out enough to collect the chronitons to compete and make threshold while farming for equipment however with this one you’re just tossing away chronitons to fast forward through missions. It doesn’t encourage someone to keep playing.

At best this event type should be as part of a hybrid event, if at all.

"Two Betas. Both predominantly negative feedback. Let's throw it into an Event next week!"
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."

Nice job fixing all the problems with this event...except for, you know, the fundamental ones that make playing the event unfun.

Bad event type continues to be bad. If you want missions to be timed, the timers have to expire together, not at random times all over the day. Babysitting **tsk tsk**. On the other hand, if it's supposed to be played as a resource sink to avoid the stupid timers, it's incredibly tedious and uninteresting.

It's still the second-worst event type and needs to go all the way back to the drawing board.
  • I did not have time to play, but from what my fleet said it is still all about babysitting at lots of different times. What a horrible event type.
