That would be just a drop in the ocean for me to be honest. At least at present.

Assuming my ticket for the Polywater Yar issue is resolved satisfactorily, then maybe that would be a nice gesture. But we’re a long way from that.

I know I'm taking a lot of heat for saying this, but all of you screaming about Polywatergate are overreacting.

Deoends on how much money people spent. Many spent at least $99 and others much more. That money spent may have been worthwhile when yar was good in arena but after the nerf yar is nearly worthless and people are very understandably upset. Spend several hundred dollars on a pc computer then have microsoft nerf the processing speed in half with an update the day after you bouht it and see how you would react, especially if microsoft wouldnt let you get your money back.

I get it. I just thought now would be a hilarious time to start the "more crew slots" chant again. ;)

  • I would rather see more crew slot sales.
  • Crew slots and a free Killy, maybe.

Personally I'm really tired of seeing 195 crew slots. I just want to see 200. I can die happy after that. And no, not worth buying. Happiness isn't worth that much ;)
  • Heavily limited free slots and Crew slots that cost thousands of Dilitium makes me leave this game.
We should truly freeze any fully equipped crew.

At the very least, legendaries. I have at least 50 of them I never touch because their stats ain't nothin at 1/5.
  • Yeah freezing 1/4 or 1/5 stars would be great. But it won't happen.

People spend hundreds on an iPad and when Apple release a new OS which slows it down they turn around and buy another.
  • Crew slots are essential regardless, and useful after most mega events when so many more crew are added to the game. We've had two months of new crew, including a recurring legendary, so the timing is great. However, I wouldn't see it as an apology, I'd prefer a citation for that.

Crew slots isn't really going to fix the fences of the different paddocks

    1) Yar - Just give her the same arena trait as Killy, this would really solve the problem and reduce most of the unhappiness.

    2) Shuttles bring closure to this

    3) Skirmish - Just admit this is still in beta phase as it's a new event type and they are looking at ways of making it more challenging, interesting, but also ways of making bonus crew more useful. But above all communicate this before the event goes live.

    4) more beta testing and communication, being truly transparent and honest when it comes to these kind of issues.

I should think that would mend a couple of fences and probably provide enough offcuts to make noggins for bridges to be built upon.

There IS a difference. An iPad is something tangible, that you can keep, resell, or use as a paperweight. An iPad has components in it that have value, that cost Apple money to produce with every single one. To a certain degree, it still retains a bit of scarcity.

A DIGITAL "character" card can be replicated infinite times, and has no value other than to someone who wants it. The cost was a few hours of their art and character development department's time. After they recoup that cost, they could literally keep selling that card FOREVER for absolutely no extra cost to them. The ONLY thing that gives this value is whether WE believe it to have value.

Even worthless money can still be used as toilet paper - STILL more useful than digital cards.

I was responding to a comment relating this to MS nerfing a computer with an OS upgrade and I simply pointed out this is pretty much the Apple business model

Apple sells you a product that cost them resources to produce. It's a tangible amount of silicon, metal, glass, and it was carefully machined in a facility. It has value. Plus they are only able to make a finite amount of them. Even if you don't use it anymore, it still has value. (Side note, plenty of people in the world still use old iPads.)

This product is literally a digital copy of a picture and some numbers. They could copy it 100 billion times and it would only cost them a little electricity. The ONLY reason it has value is because we are willing to pay money for it.

My point is that it's not exactly a 1:1 comparison.

Again I was responding to a comment which was comparing the situation to a MS update nerfing a computers speed.

I was pointing out that far from complaints a company that does it is the most valuable in the world.

I hear ya, my friend. Actually in defense of Microsoft, they're pretty good. It's the evil empire, Apple, that makes phones slower every year so you'll go out and buy the new one.

What is accepted and acceptable are two different things, many companies I know let a fair amount of time play out and listen to feedback before altering card dynamics.

I feel like this was a no-win scenario for DB the moment they released a card with such an OP ship ability. Leave it, people complain. Change it immediately, well you see what happened. Change it after a month or two, combination of both blowbacks.

Anyway... lets see some crew slots. Crew Slots! Crew Slots! Get your Crew Slots here!
