Yeah. This company is hurting. My wallet is permanently closed even for the $4 monthly card now.

Think long and hard before you spend any $. This is what the decline of a startup looks like. These things do not happen in a healthy and sustainable business.
Don’t be surprised if there are more and money money grabs as they approach the end of the line.

And outsource as much work as possible.
fooda unlimited coffee & soft drinks, beer taps, ..... , gaming areas,
beer taps.
beer taps in a working environment.
beer taps where you may be working with customers and customer support.
beer taps where one wrong button press could take out the server.
beer taps.
I think I now understand why DB has so many problems.
There is nothing wrong with beer at home or socialising but beer in the work place is a recipe for disaster. Take it from me I know first hand.
They put food, drinks and coffee immediately in the ad like it's the most important thing and only later they did mention those unimportant things like wi-fi, conference rooms and so on.
Nah this is really the least of the problems. If you want to attract talent (especially in Framingham, MA which is the middle of nowhere) you need to provide attractive amenities. I’ve worked in many environments, including my current employer, where beer is provided in the workplace but it’s done responsibly. I’m sure DB employees aren’t drinking all day long - it’s likely for Friday’s after 4 or a beer with lunch like many others in the industry allow.
This seems like that episode of Silicon Valley where they spent all their money on offices though and then went broke haha.
Also DB appears to outsource their support. So CS reps aren’t located in that office anyway.
They are looking to rent parts of their office to external people/companies. So you would pay to use their office facilities.

Before this thread, I thought that DB is actually just two guys in a really small office maybe even an office from home who outsource everything - artist, coders, testers, CS...
Guess I was wrong.
I'm pondering "you" making an offer on a distressed asset and fixing it up

Wow. Their worst nightmare. I can see you and Frank in an office constantly breathing down their neck‘s about all the problems and they couldn’t escape it by just ignoring threads
And they would be buying you food and drinks while you did it LOL
Every tech company in the Bay Area has beer at work. It’s not a big deal. They are not employing the personality type who is going to get trashed and show up to a meeting.
Sort of like a players’ ombudsman, perhaps. That would be cool. 🖖🏻
EDIT: What’s up with the vertical shifting of the emojis lately? 🤔
It’s not normal for a healthy business of approx 100 employees (got that number from a few online sources) to have 30 open desks that they are looking to rent out. That signals that they have no plan to fill them with employees any time soon.
Salary and physical facilities are typically the the largest operational expenses for most businesses (although if STT is hosted on a public cloud platform that might be up there as well). An operationally sound business does not have this problem.
It’s a sign of a mis-managed business.

This is what happens when you buy the discount version of an IP, and launch a game type that is already established with better versions with the actual TV IP, right as the IP itself jumps the shark and starts hemorrhaging viewers.
These desks have been empty since The Walking Debt bomb layoffs that claimed Nod and the others.
They are locked in for this space for years, without another viable franchise immediately on the horizon. Even if we suppose Timelines is fully healthy, GoT is winding down, Walking Debt won't develop further, there is just no realistic reason to fill those desks with new employees, and that doesn't say anything about Timelines itself.
😉😊
I think the bigger issue is a need for quality coders, QA, management. Without that nothing is going to change, been the same since day 1.
