Is there a reason why the 750 dilithium rewards cease at 350 immortalized crew?

It’s seems a bit stingy to just stop the reward at that point... shouldn’t it be ongoing? Anyone who has managed to get to that level and beyond should surely warrant the continuous benefit of maxing more crew... or am I missing something?

On a similar note, I hope there will be extensions to rewards for both voyages and the gauntlet. This brick wall of rewards seems counterproductive to the longevity of the game.

Thank you DB. This was the second post I made about this issue. I hope the voyage rewards can also be extended going forward

  • Obviously any answer from the player base is just guessing/speculation/snark... According to the Wiki, there is no reward tier beyond the 20,000 Locutus of Borg gauntlet achievement... No reward tier beyond the 1,000 voyage dilemmas/Fierce Guinan.

At 2000 dilemmas, you get 5 portals (3* variety). That's not much of a reward, but it is there.
  • I know about the rewards for 2000 voyage dilemmas and 20,000 gauntlet rounds... I mean after that, why should rewards stop?
  • I don't think they've put any scaling code in, so things likely have to get manually added. It's an insane way of doing things, but there you go.

I think it is because they realized that people can immortalize 350 one star crew. I think it was intended for immortalizing crew once only. If they changed that now, there would be pitchforks and torches. Personally, I've only once doubled an immortalized crew, but some do it a lot. I figure DB doesn't want to reward that.
  • I heard it had to do with the number or 1, 2, 3 and 4 * crew available at the time the achievement was released. Also heard that additional tiers would be added once the achievements are updated. but your guess is as good as mine.

What?! That's silly. If you want to immortalize more that one copy of a character you should be able to but it doesn't make sense that you could get credit for that toward the achievement.

If you can get that far it does make sense for the rewards to keep coming. I'm not in danger of getting close to the 350 mark so it doesn't really affect me.

It should definitely keep climbing. Personally I think the flat 750 dil payout per level wore out its welcome when I passed 200.

I've always taken the crew I've Immortalized as a point of pride.

Yeah, I've got done duplicated crew, but each of them is a different 4* crew.
    Never dubbed a 1,2 or 3.

I hope they do expand the achievement lines and add even more to them and the collections too.

@Shan This is really a broader question. Are there plans to expand the existing achievements to give players who have reached the caps more things to shoot for?

I don’t mean all new achievements, though those would be welcome as well :)
  • Also, we are getting above an average of 12 new crew per month, which means almost 150 new crew per year. Yes, I absolutely agree the back wall needs to be blown out & achievement rewards extended!

I think you hit the nail on the head. They aren't trying to incentivize the re-immortalizing of 1-star crew, but the achievement currently does count that. If they were to change the achievement to only count unique immortalized crew, those who didn't get the benefit of the old system of counting would be upset. I've somehow doubled one immortalized crew -- I don't know which one -- but otherwise mine are all unique. But then, I've discovered that approach is more unique than I thought.
    Fleet: Starship Trista
    Captain Level: 95
    VIP Level: 12
    Unique Crew Immortalized: 525
Collections Completed: Vulcan, Ferengi, Borg, Romulan, Cardassian, Uncommon, Rare, Veteran, Common, Engineered, Physician, Innovator, Inspiring, Diplomat, Jury Rigger, Gauntlet Legends

Then the solution is simple. Add an achievement for immortalizing unique crew and keep the old one as is.

Yep, and start the "unique immortalized crew" at 350. Problem solved.

    Perfect!

FWIW, the April Q&A did not touch on Achievements at all, but did indicate a willingness to expand collections:

I'm similar to you. I've only doubled one crew. I believe it was tuvok who I immortalized before tuvix existed, then lost him when I made tuvix, then did him again to complete the 3*. Other than that I've only immortalized crew once.

I have started immortalising duplicate super rare crew out of necessity so that I can meet the dailies as I have all my crew FE.
  • Why would you have to immortalise duplicate super rare crew to meet the dailies?
Shouldn't putting 10 1*-trainers on a 1*/2* crew from the time portal and equipping one item suffice?
  • This and many other achievement's need to be updated / added ... Like Frank said , different time & different game back when they were added ..... I'm sure at the rate of which DB is moving this will not happen for another year or more (if ever)
  • I have no issue for extended immortalization achievements. Might as well extend them out, though I agree unique immortalizations are more fair. I do have some super-rare doubles myself, of main crew, and I would be more than happy for them not to count.

  • I'd like to see achievements extended out as well. Not sure if I care either way if duplicates count or not if that particular achievement was extended. I know some in my fleet love to double, triple, whatever they can do to finish it. For me, I like making achievements like this by doing the work so all of mine are singles only (also feels more like an accomplishment to me)...currently working toward 275 and it is going well. One day I might start doubling up on certain crew to help with events but, within my overall plan, that is still far in the future.

It was never in my plans to start duping crew, but it was more or less put upon me when I started getting 4/4 crew for ranked event rewards that I already had immortalized. Some aren't worth more than the 800 honor for airlocking, but some would be doubling the 2nd or 3rd best crew I had in a stat (Combat Medic Paris for a recent example) in addition to giving a second strong event crew for a future event. That was enough to finally make me decide having duplicates is okay. I can't ever see me duping 1-3 stars just to add to a count though.
