Is there a reason why the 750 dilithium rewards cease at 350 immortalized crew?

  • So the general consensus is that awards should be extended. Additionally using the cryo vault to avoid people immortalizing multiple low level crew to hit the dilithium targets with duplicates should be implemented going forward. @Shan I hope this can be fed back. With all the new crew being released, stopping the rewards seems against the flow of the game... and on a side note makes one wonder if the long term status of the game is even being considered by the company.

So the new crew math is actually worse than you think @Commander Sinclair
I've been wearing my tin-foil hat lately and I have a theory that is beginning to look valid. I'm not going to unleash it just yet, but you can have this much of an early peek:

Currently, a new 5* crew is debuted on Tuesday in the 3x3 packs. On Wednesday a new event portal drops with a new 5*, a new 4* and an existing 4*. Granted, we occasionally get new 2* in the loot tables for events, or the Tuesday crew is a 4*, but let's just make the math easy. That's 3 crew per week, consistently. 12 a month. 156 a year. 104 of those will, presumably, be a 5* while the other 52 will be 4*. Legendaries become, far and away, the most abundant crew in the game.

It won't be long at this rate.
    605 total
    27 x 1*
    47 x 2*
    75 x 3*
    236 x 4*
    220 x 5*

Shouldn't take long for the gold to catch up and pass at a 2:1 rate.

To put it in a different perspective, DB is giving us an average of about 10 new crew per month (low estimate), so about 120 new crew per year. Roughly 25 of those are 5*

There are roughly 104 new 5* per year. Each weekly event has a new 5*. Each (mostly) Tuesday pack has a new 5*. That's 104. Rarely there will be a Tuesday pack that doesn't have a new 5* but those are made up for with the mega events that have a mega 5* every 2 months.
Then they change the Gauntlet 5* at least once a year and they have a new Honor Hall 5* about once a year (2 during the time that the Honor Hall has existed)

Whilst I would like to see more achievements, I would also like to see DB do something interesting with duplicate crew. Currently having duplicate crew only gives a mild advantage in the game. Even if you have a really solid duplicate its value may diminish over time. I remember back in the day some people would have multiple copies of 1701 Dax because she was a top 4* Sci crew. Not so much nowadays.

Yet it still takes effort to actually immortalize a crew member. I wouldn't mind seeing some in game method of crew recycling. You immortalize a crew member, you get a cookie. The bigger the crew, the bigger the cookie. The only cookie right is the achievement and I never rushed that by doing duplicates.

Currently I don't put a tonne of effort in some events and I'm overflowing with materials. This weekend's event is a prime example. I could fight hard for Vash, a crew member I like, or I could do other things* and just threshold and out. I have KalSpock, there's no reason for me to get more. So give me a reason to get Vash and Spock. It also has the side effect of making Galaxies more interesting since people will have to manage their chron/item reserves.

It would be nice for the rewards to be extended, but as many mentioned, only for unique Immortalized toons (no dupes). However, I will hold my breath to see if DB actually does anything more than say, “We’ll revisit them.”

    I have a similar problem...
I´m at 394 immortalized crew at the moment.
To meet the dailies I have a few crew I train exactly with 10 trainers a day and equip the item(s).
I usually get every week the new legendary and use them for this procedure.
  • Not defending them, but -
When the achievements were added, very, and I do mean VERY, few players had 350+ immortals - that was a monumental number to overcome. That was about 15 months ago, and there was barely 400 crew in the game at that point.

Since then, obviously we are over 600 and the advent of Voyages and 10x10 pack sales has helped a huge swaft of players hit that magical number.

TL;DR - It was made back when there was 350 in the game, just hasn't been scaled to new totals since.

My point exactly! We are at 619 total crew to date, and adding weekly....

To be honest, I don't think the duplicate thing is a big problem. It still requires a certain amount of resources to immortalize even a 1* or 2* (that will be completely useless afterwards) and if someone can afford to FE 50 of them all at once, that's already a player who could immortalize every other crew on the game too. It just gives them a chance to unlock the 750 dilithium quickly, if they need it for something.
Also, if they just add more levels to this achievement according to the actual number of crew or 4* crew that exists in the game, it won't really be a problem. You may immortalize tons of 1* just to get all achievements at once and then you'll have to wait.
That being said, I'm still at 240 and I only have 2 duplicates, so it's not like this issue will affect me anytime soon :D

Looks like our wishes may be coming true!

I have 393 immortals so perhaps something will happen on next daily refresh...

Don't count on it. They likely haven't been incrementing your numbers. Same likely goes for Gauntlet if they ever update that one. We'll have to start from 20k regardless of what you've done after that.

This appears to have been updated all the way up to 600. Yay! Thanks DB!
  • This appears to have been updated all the way up to 600. Yay! Thanks DB!

But did you get the achievements for your immortalized crew beyond 350? There's already two threads in the Engineering room showing that it's not working.
  • Frank?Frank? ✭✭✭✭✭
My guess is that, like other new achievements, it doesn't work if you've already logged in today - so no free DIL till reset time tonight.

Fantastic that DB did this just before I hit 350 lol. Great timing.
  • To put it in a different perspective, DB is giving us an average of about 10 new crew per month (low estimate), so about 120 new crew per year. Roughly 25 of those are 5*, so let's assume around 90-100 new 4*.

Why would you NOT want to extend achievements to include these? I also think (as we have asked for in other threads) to include crew slots in the rewards somewhere. Alternating between dilithium and crew slots for every 25 immortals seems fair, no?

If DB included crew slots as rewards for anything at all, that would be awesome. Lord knows, we would all definitely appreciate them!
HIGH RANKING, HIGHLY SEXY FLEET SEEKS HOT & ACTIVE PEOPLE FOR SOME FUN PLAY.

Have you been naughty? Playing with yourself again? Has another fleet touched you in bad ways? Don’t worry, we will train you…. Gently. Light bondage only. Bring your own handcuffs, though…. We don’t supply them.

We’re not those other guys. Here we shower often, and we treat our members like family.
We know how to whip some serious tail, yet no one is left to shiver out in the cold. If you need advice, help, strategy, tips or anything at all…. I and my officers are here to help you.

Currently, we're looking for more good people to enjoy the game with us, and we offer a TON to our members, in return. We prefer level 50 members and above. Lower level players than this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We use the DISCORD app for all our fleet chats (it's free). We're much better organized than many other top-tier fleets in the game, while a heck of a lot more relaxed and much more fun to be a part of. I have numerous other former fleet Admirals who joined me, and we have a world of knowledge and experience to share with you. Sure, we all love the game, and we enjoy playing it often; but we're also a fun family of kooky friends from around the world, who enjoy playing the game together. On top of playing, we also hang out often and share plenty of good laughs, an excellent supportive environment and one another's company.

It's OK if you don't play every day. You don’t have to be a daily player, but the more you play the more fun you’ll have with us. So long as you let me know ahead of time whenever you know you're going to be offline from the game for five days or more, I won't kick you for inactivity. You can send me that message on DISCORD at any time you need to; it takes only a moment. That rule helps keep our fleet as active as possible.

All Captains MUST have a name other than just “Captain” so that others may recognize you. We have no drama, but instead are a close-knit group of good people who treat each other as if we’re both friends & family.

WE’RE ALMOST ALL VERY HIGHLY ACTIVE, and help is never far whenever you might need it, at any stage of the game, nearly 24/7. Whatever your skill level, we can help you.

If you are interested in joining our fleet, please feel free to message me and I will be glad to assist you.

Free steak & Lobster available from our resident chef upon joining (alternate meal suggestions are possible), drinks available through our in-house bartender/barista/host. Please be sure to tip your wait staff. They're nuts, but they're worth it.

Daily reset didn't solve the issue, but immortalizing one more crew before reset increased the counter to 351... It looks bad! It's just a scam. It is a pity that the old players of the company do not care
  • Mine achievement says is set at 375. I have not got there yet, I only have 365 immortalized.

Geez, man, relax. They'll fix it.

There is a thread in Engineering Room about the achievement not displaying to correct amount of crew. X-posting what I said there, the team is looking into it and we hope to have a fix asap.
