Random Friend Requests when competing in an event?

  • I know for a fact that many messages I send are not ever seen by the person I am trying to send them to. The in-game messaging is particularly bad when it comes to one-to-one messages. So it's very possible that the people sending Friend requests do send messages but you just never see them.

This is true. Either the notification doesn’t appear or the message itself disappears before you get a chance to read it.
  • I for one am not spending dough on the event, ore farming and saving for months? Yea

You just focus on staying number one. If your posting on the forums distracts from that you're going to find out what fans have wondered for years... where the toilets on the ship are because you'll scrub them all! ;)

Don't worry the only thing holding me back is number of chrons and crippling finger spasms

Don’t actually know how many I saved, all pre-farming. And I’m not a whale, not even VIP 14, just spent like 6 months farming components

    6 months times 30 days times 1000 chrons/day. = 180,000, so sounds about right.

I always accept them and write back something like "HI!" if it's a random person. They don't respond.

Hmm, my account must not get along with yours, couple pm i sent no reply. Since you're not posting here to stop, I'll repeat my message here:

Hi silverrose, nice rank this event . i want to say how much I've appreciated the info you have posted to forum these past years. Thank you

Toss in some chrons from special offers as well. 3,000 here 5,000 there. It actually only took me about 4 months to gather those

Not sure how much this factors in the dailies & events/crew during those 6 mths?

  • However..... 6 months x 30 days x 240 chrons daily = 43,200 chrons lost

    We are at different level

That's the trick, by pre-farming, you don't lose the chrons, I spent them every day building up inventory
  • why choose this event to spend 6 months of galaxy farming though? The legendary does not have top tier stats in any way. Quick evasion skill really worth all that?

When it happens, you don’t question it. You just get a feeling the time is right. It’s not about the crew, it’s about the victory

I finished 7th, and if I had actually done something besides 100k in the first 30 hours, I might of hit my goal of top5.
My farming is limited to cadet, 7x daily replicator, and min daily chronos spent for the 200 honor goal. So I was sitting on a huge pile of chronos.

    Reasons for this galaxy.
I regarded this 5* average, which meant there wasn't going to be super competition. And competitive it was not. I scored around 93% of my squadrons points, and squadron finished 11th.

After two years, I know by looking which sets of recipes are doable. Each phase I was able to isolate the two most painful (for undroppable items) and concentrate on the others in the one window. I considered this galaxy to be decent in difficulty.

To begin with I had both 4* event crew and 5/5 Kung Fu Sarek and these fellows did 95% of the builds. The 1/5 Mirror T'Pol didn't help much after I got her to FE.

I didn't see The Prophet's ship stats until after the event. If he was just a smidge stronger that zero sec initialization might have gone good with 5/5 Locutus.

    I didn't plan. :)

    He is cool.
  • It's actually fairly easy saving chrons once you've played long enough. Unless you're maxing out crew daily it just happens. I've been sitting on over 20k for months because I just don't have anything to do with them.

I could save more easily enough if I was dedicated to the game and doing Voyages and the Gauntlet but I don't even do daily challenges any more. I mainly just clear event thresholds and done.

I actually was shooting for an event that would offer:

    - a "good" crew (top 25% voyage stat of gold crew, without being sooo desirable that competition got crazy. In other words I wanted a useful crew, but also didn't want to be 4th, because everyone went after it
    - A crew strong in dip/sec where I am actually weak in the pair. (I had been prioritizing eng/med/sci so much that dip sec is my worst voyage)
    - An event where I had some/most of the event crew to limit spend on leveling crew and the ability to ensure high rare reward %
    - An event that matched my pre-farm list. I have been simulating running different events and depending on the items in the recipes, my score could range from 5.8 million to 8.5 million. By being a re-run, I could exactly plan how much of each mission to run in each phase in order to maximize my existing inventory.

This event happened to be a perfect fit for my inventory, and allowed me to put up a huge score and win, where with less optimal recipes and a competitive event, I may have struggled to hit 3rd.

Oh, and I think mirror sarek is cool.

You know my feelings about STD. Be thankful I believe in the Vulcan philosophy of IDIC or you'd be going out the airlock with Wesley.

Seriously though, you're a great officer and I'm happy to have you in the fleet. :)
  • I imagine the big spenders have their first place finishes and it might be cheaper to pay for a first place in a faction too.

Seems like the ftp people are taking turns earning too 15 in the galaxies.

Well 1230 DIP base is not soooo bad at all. ;)

The faction events are the ones I abandon all hope of winning. You’re talking hundreds of dollars to win one

Or stockpiling boosts for a year.

I don’t even think that will work. People send out 9 hour shuttles and recall them instantly. That’s what you’re up against

  • I never get random friend requests (of course my highest rank ever was 73)...the doc is sad. :'(
