I spent well over one year, possibly two, not thinking that I could use Warp. I was competing in galaxy events running each mission manually and wondering why other people were gaining VP so much quicker than me...

Oh man. That realization was a true slap the forehead moment
I somewhat routinely will complete a voyage, collect rewards, complete shuttle missions, and then start and crew at least one new shuttle before remembering I should probably put my best people on the voyage instead.
I just sent the prophet on a shuttle mission when I need him for the event.
I know the feeling all too well. Back during the June mega, I was rocking the expedition event with RAF O’Brien. Next time I log in, I fire up a new voyage, send out shuttles, and go to do another expedition ticket...only to find out RAF O’Brien is gone for the next three hours. Oops.
During my first 2 weeks into the game, I micro-managed all missions, because I thought I would be losing out on XP if I used warp 1 (didn't notice that you get extra trainer items from warping them).

I did that just 10 minutes ago!
Yup, I seriously crewed my voyage before shuttles for the first time yesterday. And this morning, while reflecting on how I really should have been putting my best on voyages all along, my mouse hand on auto-pilot send off a round of shuttles before crewing the next voyage. It's a hard routine to break...

I spent some time thinking about it, and maybe some of the older players can answer me,but I always thought you had to be higher than VIP0 to warp?
My initial reaction was that they had changed it at some point and I had missed that announcement.... I had drifted away from the game at the start as it was too hard to do anything (no voyages, no dabo, 30 crew slots, no daily rewards) and I was busy with Star Wars Uprising as well. So when I came back to the game I was just running missions manually... Took up a lot of my journey to work and back!

I think you're right, or at least I didn't have warp for the first year or so. Back then, I was VIP0 and I always thought it was because of that.
If memory serves, the VIP system originally restricted mission warping to paying customers but last year they decided to make Warp 1 available to everyone. I cannot recall if they lowered the VIP level threshold for Warp 10 or not.
I had airlocked the free dominion dukat before remembering I actually didn’t have him. When I was slot poor he was one of the ones I booted a long time ago. I now have him FF but I’ll pay more attention next time.
About an hour before a faction event ended, I sent out 4 shuttles on 9-hour double reward boosts *facepalm*
What I meant to do was send them out on 90-minute time reduction boosts, so that I had a option of recalling them with a relatively small amount of dilithium if I was close to dropping out of the top 1k.
It was so long ago that I can't remember if I stayed in the top 1k or not, but I do remember that I didn't bother recalling any of the 9 hour shuttles!
I didn't understand how fusing worked and thought if you fused 2 lvl 100's together you'd have better stats than fusing a level 100 with a level 1.... THAT was quite a few wasted early chronitons
There was an event fairly recently with Mirror Garak as event crew, and I completely forgot to unfreeze him - which is just one reason why I don't really care for the vault.
I also attempted recently to trade in Polywater Yar for a Legendary citation, and now I have neither.
I just spent 150 chrons on a relatively inefficient farming mission to gain intel for the skirmish event; being totally taken by surprise that the event ended at 17:00 CET due to the transition from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time.
Oops.
Most anticipated character not in the game: Mr. Homn

Been there.
I had an immortalized Aviator Yar on Voyages during the entire Polywater Yar event

otherwise obvious “just one more pull” would count as well

Been there, done that.
For the first month of play I wouldn't replicate anything because I didn't know if I needed all these things I had...

But my worst was buying that fifth Mirror Picard with honor! Damn you, DB.

But you got that honor back, right?
