Well, I would say more like three voyages every two days. Voyages are halted while sleeping and when it takes a bit to get around to doing the dilemma.
Ive done this religiously for quite some time. Early returns are way favorable to extensions. It cost a little over 200 dilithium to instantly recall a ten hour voyage
That being said.....it does seem to be at a daily cost of 400+ dilithium.....or 3000 per week.
Plus.....on a relative cost basis of chrons for dilithium.....I'd wager that you pay more doing it this way.
Not really. What it does do however is let you get in two full voyages when you have favorable feature skills/ship traits/etc, letting you get the maximum benefit. On days when the skills are tough or you miss the ship bonus or whatever, just recall it normally so you only have to run one voyage that day.
Another way it gets a little cheaper is I don't instantly recall until my shuttles get back, because I want 100% of my crew available before sending the next voyage out.
And finally, between monthly cards and the premium campaign track rewards, players get a pretty good supply of dilithium coming in, and if wracking up chronitons is the goal, this is the best way to use that dilithium.
I used to use it only for crew slot sales but ive got 300 slots and now i just freeze a couple when i run out of slots. So i now save dilithium for elusive treasures the occanisaly event pack and thats it.
I use to buy slots, but Im good on those now. Mostly just voyages and only when I forget to recall in time;) and Believe it or not event packs, especially if its a crew I earned and wanted, and want to fuse, been really lucky on those lately.
Early-mid game I used it on slots, now it's primarily for chasing the new 4* faction/skirmish cards, with an occasional Tuesday splurge. I may try voyage recalls when I'm collecting Chrons.

If and only if there is a valuable 4 stars crew in an exhausted voyage.
