    Doubtful. If a 5* gives 2x, what would the lower rarities offer?

    They exist to make you spend resources to stay at your event rank before the end. Just like Rare Rewards in Galaxy. It will require you to judge where you think you will rank at the end with less certainty. The house makes the rules, so they almost always benefit from their own rules (unless they screw it up). Enjoy the game and don't let little silly rules denigrate your enjoyment of the process. I like to bark cause it's fun to bark says the big dog
