You gotta bait a Doctor Seven trap with cheesecake.......
My local bookmaker hates you now, but thankies for the big cash Scott As I said when you announced you so called last post a while ago:
Full stake bet against that happening
Easiest bet/win ever. For a multitude of reasons. So thanks again
I was encouraged to not quit. I spent the "quiet time" resisting a lot of urges to join in and comment. Always resisted it, and made my comments on stuff to friends in PMs. But, it's hard to be out.

It’s understandable. I do that myself. Sometimes people nitpick you to death and you just gotta step away for a while to maintain your sanity
If someone is bothering you or being rude to you on forum you can always set that person to ignore by clicking on their pic then clicking on the tiny person icon on the right of their profile then click ignore.

It’s the nature of humans on social media. My brother in law is an extreme example. His wife will not go on Facebook because she’s a teacher and wants her private life private so he’s free to do and say whatever he wants. In real life he’s a decent guy. On Facebook he is the biggest jagbag you’ll ever run into. Keyboard courage.
Well said Banjo, "keyboard courage." Shan and others are quite good about monitoring too for people causing problems on forum but for those that they miss that are way over the top people can flag them and a DB employee will see the post or comment and edit or remove as necessary.

I definitely will not be posting in "The Ready Room" any longer. The last straw was people saying the Nazis weren't "the bad guys" in World War Two and defending the Holocaust........

That is a very good example of posts that need to be flagged when you see them. Have them take their hate elsewhere.

I was so shocked and appalled, I clicked out fast. If I remember which thread, I'll flag them.

Me too, and I'm never sure why. As many people can attest, occasionally I will send people a PM to say hello or some other reason, and once in a while my PM will fail to send because the person has blocked me, and I'll just scratch my head because I have never interacted with the person.

I like you and figure you are similar to me. Someday, in this life or the next if you believe that way, I would like to meet you and others from the forums. That said, You sometimes have a tendency to be be blunt in your opinions. I often do that too. To some, that may come across as dismissive when it is not intended as such. I figure anyone who blocks you doesn't understand you or has their own issues. I've been annoyed at some comments by one person or another and misunderstandings at some of mine, but I've never blocked anyone.
I am minded to think that blocking people you don't agree with just strengthens the "social media bias bubble"? I would much rather disagree (or even be convinced by a different opinion) than be stuck in an echo chamber.
Though clearly, the example Scott used with the Ready Room conversation oversteps the mark of decency (and legality in some countries) and should be flagged as such.

I think blocking is more for a person being repeatedly insulting or harrassing rather than someone they disagree with. But each person can decide how they want to use the feature to enjoy the game and forum.

I found the thread in Ready Room. No one really came right out and said "Nazis are good" or words to that effect. But the tone was just unsettling, I guess. Just certain posts were a little too "Allies were bad, too" to sit comfortably with me.

Indeed. Whataboutism and false equivalencies were rampant in that topic...I stopped bothering with the thread, although I still like to go to the Ready Room to offer advice.

After rereading the thread, I think I can probably do okay in there, too. Like I said, no one actually said "Nazis is gud". It was just like "We had bad allies, so neither side was 100% right or 100% wrong." Just made me uncomfortable, the way I interpreted what I read. (And probably read into it!)
