I had the option to repair hull after the 4th battle after taking some damage in that battle (didn't have the option to repair after the first three because health was at 100%), so it seems like a bug if you had a damaged hull and couldn't repair.
4/5 not allowing a hull top up. Has that always been the case?
I always choose the reward so it doesn't really affect me. Just made me think twice when I went to click the wrong area of the screen.
Ah good to know it's not just me, then.
Yes I hate the new layout. The button to spend dilithium is right on top of the go to next battle button. Feels very much like a casino poker slot machine where the deal button is right next to the spend all your money on one deal button so that when you click the deal button over and over you eventually accidentally hit the spend all your money on one deal button.

That made me laugh honestly out loud!!!!!
Also, that'll be a 7.0.12 change now...........
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
Isn’t it also the case that minor damage can be magically repaired by having event or bonus crew? That’s how it seems to work for me, at least some of the time. It’s only when you have more damage than can be magically repaired that the new interface will show the repair option.
And yes, the Spend 10 Dil For 30 Intel button really should be farther away. It only takes being a little off the mark and a fat thumb to accidentally pound that button instead of the one you want.
Still something fishy going on with event ranks, I've been essentially going non stop since the start and have managed 150k and there's already someone above 400k
I clear battles quick so I just do not understand how it's legitimately possible

It’s not yet out of the range of humanly possible. The event has been going on for 3 hours. I am able to complete a round of 5 in 2 min 30 seconds. Assuming 6000 VP per round, without any reward extras, it is conceivably possible in those 72 available rounds that someone has been playing nonstop for 3 hours and broken 400,000. And probably is going slowly bonkers.
It is also possible that that is a macro; If that persists past the point when we would expect a human to have to eat/pee/sleep/whatever, eyebrows should be raised.
Not that tough to figure out how someone can be so far ahead (without using macros). I know several folks who always buy 2 extra bonus rewards with every successful battle. Enough dilithium spent, and you'll come up with a fair amount of extra VP in those bonus rewards.

Now that I’ve seen the Scimitar in action through the event I have to say, it still really looks awful. Seriously, I’ve been looking forward to the day they put the Scimitar in the game since I started playing and now that she’s finally here, I don’t want her because she just looks like crap. Who’s idea was it for her to fly around in battle with the tholeron radiation wings split apart anyhow? Terrible idea. Terrible execution. Sorry, but it’s true.
Weirdly enough, I’m also Vulcan Housewife. Also, RNGesus hates me, like really, REALLY hates me.

Granted I did forget about buying that extra VP... that does make a bit more sense if people are rouletteing that every time
If they are pulling in 500 bonus VP per round through dil or whatever, 3 hrs 15 min / 2.5 min x 6500 VP = 507,000 VP possible or more if they are running faster. If at 7:30 in they are at 2x that I would be suspicious. Right now ‘shockingly dedicated, obsessive and playing smart’ is still a plausible explanation.
With a good phone, internet connection, and crew you can get a single skirmish in 2:10 to 2:15 and 160-170k an hour for few hours at a time, though to get close to 170k you need to be getting the 10 dil boxes.
Over a longer stretch 155k-160k is closer to a realistic max.

I can understand disappointment in the appearance, though it's relevant to the storyline since the threat is from use of the Tholeron radiation. Kinda does make sense.
Is it just me, or is the Scimitar a lot more, well, blowy-uppy than other ships? Don't know if it's supposed to be specifically the thalaron generator popping its cork, but it looks a lot cooler than the 'fall apart in a puff of smoke' end other ships have, I'd be happy if the effect got applied to all of them.

Hi! I set up the ship to be really fast, and then tap for a very long time.

1/2 ain't bad (internet not great, device is good)
I think max is around 175k per hour when on the ball, and this time only the 1st battle lingers sometimes.

Why is it so white?
The way it dwarfs the E which was a huge ship is crazy.

I stop to run to pee or grab something from the fridge/stove once in a while during ad warps. Sometimes a short mass farming pause. If there's a graph of it and you see a tiny bump or break in it, that's what it is. afaik macros can't go that fast so the incline would be less steep.
Typing, eating, and other stuff during animations.
Raise eyebrows but it's humanly possible to go for far longer than 3 hours without much or any pause. It just takes some determination and preparation.
Humans all being different, we've a huge variance in tolerance levels. Repetitive tasks might slowly drive others bonkers. For me, I've got a cluttered and sometimes stressed mind I'm working on. For the most part the repetitive tapping does something to quiet and focus it. For the odd internal scream "MAKE IT STOP" I just quiet that voice, laugh at it, and then feel slightly accomplished for continuing anyways.
It’s surprisingly easy on a Saturday to have Star Trek reruns occupying the higher brain functions while the autonomous nervous system is simultaneously skirmishing, once the muscle memory gets trained. Helps the time go much less painfully. :-)
If you strap on a CamelBak and make sure the snack table is set up, along with wearing an astronaut diaper, you can work straight through the first 36 hours.

I probably played for a good hour or two straight just now, enough to go from rank 1800ish up to 250ish. The chron/intel loop gave out...I maybe could have kept going a while but I don’t hoard chrons, my next voyage doesn’t get back for a while, and I am definitely not buying the chron offer.
Oddly enough, the grind of a Skirmish event doesn’t bother me anywhere near as much as the grind during Galaxy events. All the other conditions are the same: TV on in the background, occasional breaks to imbibe or expel fluids, stretched out on the couch. It’s not that I pre-farm and therefore could go for much longer in Galaxy events, I just find ship battles easier to grind away at over time.
