How does this affect the 4* rewards? Are they staying the same (1001-1500 get 1x5* and 4x4*, 1501-2000 gets 3x4*, and below 3000 gets 0x4*) or have they been shifted down by 500 ranks (1501-2000 gets 4x4* and 3001-3500 gets 1x4*)?

There is also an expansion for the 4* crew, it will be visible once the event announcement goes live.

I wonder if squad rewards rehash might include some honor. :)

I think the squad rewards need a total rework. ANY bonus seemed to matter when I first started. But now I understand them, and see what we get, and squad rewards are completely worthless at even first place.

If this is a "social" game with "team" aspects, then, even a few months, or more, in, I should feel like my squad rewards could ever matter on any front.

Right now, I get get a few shuttles worth of VP if I share, or get a few extra easier shuttles if I'm not the leader in a squad.
But at the end of the event, my squad gets exactly ZERO noticeable value for being a squad and working as a team.

The reason they don't do this, is because squads are broken. For instance during a galaxy event, there is nothing to stop someone entering a squad, dumping all there rares then leaving again thereby artificially inflating the squad score for an easy win.
Squads do get benefits for faction events, including the use of shared crew which in our case usually consists of a 5/5 gold.

There could easily be something to stop that, though. A cool down on changing squads, for instance. For whatever reason, they put a cool down on DYC. Just make it so if you change, can't change again for seventy-two hours.

maybe but the rewards would only go to the players in the squad when the event finishes... if someone does a fleet full of alts then yeah, he deserves that reward lol

The expansion of rank 3k-5k getting a copy of the ranked 4* is a very nice surprise! This will make it much easier to add a single star.

I think this is a good and over due change.. thou I do feel this really only undoes some of the "damage" done by the mega-point threshold expansion. Would still like to more 5's expanded down the chain.

(I .e top 600 gets 2x5* , top 150 gets 3x or some other form of significant boost.. 15,000 honor or some such)

But this is a positive change and I'm thankful.

    All right.
Not only do ranks 51-1000 still get 1x 5* crew but from now on so will ranks 1001-1500!
I will amend the communique accordingly.

@Shan so that's for new events only and not retroactive for reruns?

This will apply to reruns as well.

Incroyable! Laissez les bon temps roullez!!!

    Thanks @Shan !!!

  • I'm not really into the reviving old threads thing, but since I was one of those who partially or mostly disliked the previous changes to event rewards, I thought I'd mention that I like this one very much.

I waited to see how the event would go, but there's really nothing bad to say about it. It makes up for the increased competition caused by the previous changes, while addressing a number of actual player requests.
It also makes overshooting less frustrating, because you actually get more for your chrons or time or whatever resources the event type requires.
