Thanks as always for posting Shan, yay for another skirmish and only having to thaw out Drone Seven - but also count me in as another vote for this Spock

    Star-Trek-The-Motion-Picture-mr-spock-10920218-800-556.jpg

can you say killer SCI AND ENG and maybe a tiny bit of CMD too?

I'm excited about Pike's Enterprise Science Officer Spock for this event, but I'd also love to see TMP Science Officer Spock at some point, too. We definitely need more crew versions from TMP, like EV Suit Spock.

TMP turns 40 in December, so my guess is that we'll get some of those then if not before. Others I'd like: Chief of Starfleet Operations Kirk (in the uni with the gray on the sides), Navigator Ilia, and Transporter Chief Rand.

To come back to the event at hand, though, I'll admit that Spock being from Disco does tip the scales for me. I don't think I'd have pushed all that hard for Slumber Party Spock. He's a beloved favorite, certainly, but already well represented by other versions I like a lot more. But I really dug Ethan Peck's work in the role, and even though I'll have Fugitive Spock from the Campaign, I'd kinda like this version, too.
Plus the bonus of him being event crew in every Disco event.

Provided they keep doing the all Discovery crew thing for bonuses. With over 50 crew now from the show in-game they may start being more selective at some point.

I wonder if this was part of the reasoning behind bringing Time Loop Mudd into this week's event and adding Fugitive Spock to this month's campaign. For those scoring at home, if DB restricted bonus crew to just characters who will be in S3, we're left with:

    Burnham x8 (5* x3; 4* x3; 2* x2)
    Saru x3 (5* x1; 4* x1; 2* x1)
    Stamets x4 (5* x2; 4* x1; 2* x1)
    Tilly x3 (5* x2; 2* x1)
    Culber x1 (5*)
    Detmer x1 (4*)
    Georgiou x4 (5* x2; 4* x2)

    TOTAL x24 (5* x11; 4* x8; 2* x5)

Given the circulation of the 5*'s and the relative uselessness of the 2*'s, that's an especially limited pool of bonus crew. There are, of course, plenty of other variants of those crew to be introduced between now and then, and still some other characters altogether (Jett Reno, the rest of the bridge crew; Gabrielle Burnham).

I think the assumption is she left Discovery just before they time jumped.

S3 will be produced and aired before Section 31, and per Michelle Yeoh herself, Georgiou is confirmed for S3. There are four obvious solutions, presented in order of convolution:
    1. She appears in S3 only in flashbacks/recordings explaining how and why she bailed.
    2. Georgiou joins or resurrects Section 31 in the next millennium.
    3. Section 31 does time travel ops, and when the show is ostensibly "set" is effectively irrelevant.
    4. She bailed before Disco's time jump and cryogenically freezes herself after the Section 31 show's setting, to be thawed in the future of S3.

If S2 taught us anything, it's that none of those is convoluted enough to be what they decide.
  • I love skirmishes. Not only that but we got an event crew with the perfect arena ability for it as well.
  • KaiteeKaitee ✭✭✭✭✭
So hey, just ballpark figure, how many VPs might I need to be reasonably sure of making the 1500 cutoff for a Spock? Because I'm watching my chron stock slowly creep up and remembering last time I went all in on a skirmish and came in at rank 100-something, and I'd really love to be significantly lazier this weekend.

    Can't be #2,
    Tyler is also in it.

And #3, while plausible, would remove the finality and urgency of
Discovery going to the 31st century!

800K is the going rate these days. Give or take 100K depending on the weekend. This weekend will be Memorial Day for the USA.

that sounds like a full skirmish event no? I'd think a hybrid would be less..

Agreed, but the top players are putting up 300K in 2 days of Factions, and at least 400K in two days of Skirmish. So the 800K is probably still the ball park.

Are you talking top 25 players or top 1500? 300k in the faction section is more top end players but top end players will do far more than 400k a day in skirmish.

    Thanks for the tip

(If we're being honest, now I've got Fugitive Spock out of the campaign, Science Spock's going to need some really nice art to convince me not to just hit the threshold then go level up some random folks. I like the beard.)

Either with or without the overrobe is cool with me. I have been hoping to see her and some of the other Desert Enterprise Crew for a while. Archer or Trip from "Desert Crossing" would be a cool new 2*......

    "Instant Family". Has her plus the powerhouse comedy couple of Marky Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne, who are always hilarious together. Recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. {I honestly put it on hold when the library got it, just because of Tig Notaro......}

Commonly asked question: does T'Mir count?

No. The non-main cast family has never counted in events feature the main cast family member. The main cast family have been included in events for the guest star to increase the bonus pool, but there is no need to increase the bonus pool when the main cast is included.

    Examples:
In T'Mir's event, T'Pol was bonus. In T'Pol's events, T'Mir is not bonus.
In Lal's event, Data was bonus. In Data's events, Lal is not bonus.
In a Rihanna Mayweather event, Travis would be bonus. In Travis's event, Rihanna was not bonus.
  • Nice, a new T'Pol will be cool. Not in the slightest bothered about yet another Spork.

Three great bonus crew -- favorite characters all. Looking forward to T'Pol's stats.

Dont know if this was asked or answered but are we gonna be able to get the new Voyager without having to buy packs? I recall the last 2 skirmishes gave us Pike's Enterprise and the Enterprise-E. Meaning we got extra schems for both ships via ingame email.

The last skirmish ship was the Cardassian Keldon class and they gave enough (600) schems in thresholds to 1/10 it. Hopefully that was a sign of how things will work going forward.
