Do you think the Event 5* should be available in Dabo?

So my fleetmate @Prime Lorca [10F] and I were discussing the merits of the Event legendary card being made available early as part of the Dabo loot table.

Now whilst I don't begrudge anyone from going on a Dabo splurge to get their name in lights I do feel that being able to get it early takes the fun out of the race, and from DBs perspective it may even be costing them money...I would have sprung for a DYC had he still been unmaxed at the end of the event but when I saw someone got there on Friday I closed my wallet.

So, a penny for your thoughts...

    Why would it matter? I have gotten exactly ZERO THINGS of any kind on the top row ever......

    Sure, why should DB not making some extra dimes from ppl that clear the dabo to first to max. And its still a lot of risk involved cause theres no way to know 100% if someone wasn t already quicker as well.

    This way even ppl that usually don t have a chance to FTM any crew(like myself), can do it. Honestly i prefer to read different FTMnames on new crew, instead the same name(s) over and over and over(no disrespect,
    they do it fair and squair).... ;)

    And FTM an event crew card is not just skill, it depends on other things like fast internet connection and device speed as well. And often its just 10-20 seconds between FTM and 2nd. So ppl that don t have access to the fastest internet connections have a chance via dabo as well.

    And btw i can max a legendary card within 5-6 mins but even thats mostly not fast enough these days...I have 5 FTM crew(4 thx to dabo) only, and i can t see why ppl that have like 20 or 50+ feel they are being „robbed“ of a fair race...

    And....we had some events, where the event legendary wasn t maxed in advance via dabo, so it doesn t happen every time. :)

    It’s meant for people who clear the wheel to get the card. I’ve done it three times. Twice since the watch a video for a free spin was introduced. I like it much better with that

    Every time I do it, it goes through the bottom two rows entirely before going to the top. BUT I have hit the legendary twice on 5000 credit spins and one of the super rares once

    I don't have a problem with event cards showing up on dabo before the event finishes. I also wouldn't have a problem if they only showed up afterward.

    In nearly one year of playing I've gotten a super rare twice. (And because RNG is such a tease, they were less than a week apart.) No legendaries yet, even with the slightly increased chance that the free ad spin grants.

    Fine if the legendary is in dabo after he/she is obtainable through the event or packs but not before. It would not matter if not for the "First to Max" achievement for each crew member. That should be as competitive as possible and as even a playing field as possible. Luck of getting the legendary before the event in your dabo when others do not and spending thousands in dilithium to achieve it eliminates all but a dozen or so lucky whales from ever being "First to Max" any legendary. I have no problem with the legendary in dabo after the event in which you earn the new ranked reward legendary but not before.

    So I didn’t vote no because I want the chance to ftm more cards. At this point, I actually value honor to much too spend honor when I could buy event packs and 1/10 packs to get extra stars on event golds. I would only try to ftm when I finish top 5.

    I voted no for the non-big spenders who save for months or years and go all out in an event for a top 5 or 15 finish. This may be their only chance to ftm a gold, and it would be nice if it was possible for them in all events.

    I will say the times I cleared the wheel were with no free to max intentions. That is a highly competitive rat race that I harbor no dreams of winning whatsoever. I did it when I first started because I loved Orion Vina as a card. The other two times were to get two MED/SCI heavy crew to finish off my team for when those two skills come up in a voyage

    IMHO, and as stated by others, the “first to max” deal should be as competitive as possible, not because someone clears a Dabo Wheel prior to an event. I would rather the character not be available until after the first event he/she could be obtained from.

    I can see the other side of the argument, though. DB is a business, and if it entices someone to blow dilithium on Dabo, why not?

    It doesn't matter. I never had a 5* or 4* in the Dabo. And I'm playing the game for 3 years.

    Thinking that removing the event legendary from Dabo will give everyone a fair shot at FTM will set you up for a lot of disappointment ;-)

    Most of us get the gold one early on to keep us hoping, never anything else from the top row, occasionally ship schematics we already maxed / odd bits of equipment from the second row, most often 2-3 things from the bottom row. I'm not sure the famous RNG has much to do with it but hey, it's Dabo.

    Yes, but then I think all cards should be available in the regular and premium pack selections (with usual odds) from the moment they are in the game somewhere. The "event packs" should just give their usual slightly better odds.

    I can see that it is annoying for someone to work really hard to get the ranking 5* in an event and then see that card in the dabo the same day that event ends. But in 2 more days the event pack is going to be available to everyone so in the end someone in a hurry for that top dabo prize may spend 6k-14k to get it. Which can be alot more than a few event packs or straight cash purchase. Everyone is going to have access to the event crew/ranked reward at some point. Again, i feel for your frustration, but does it really matter when?

    Once the event is complete, why not? Not before though.

    I've never had a desire to FTM so it makes zero difference to me, I'm happy just building Rome in as long as it takes.

    Yep, had this happen with the last Kira event. Huge Kira fan in the fleet, pushed for a personal record to try to get in position to get the F2M, and she was gone before the first day of the event had passed.

    Zombie was kind enough to change his avatar so it was obvious she was gone and that let the player/squad reassess strategy and resources. I've seen it a few times where people go all out for an event and then see that the character had been maxed days/up to a week before and it wasn't obvious. That's a real kick in the teeth for huge fans who save up to go all out.

    DB will never change this, because someone always spends $$$$ to clear the Dabo Board. Your concerns about a fair playing field for other players to try and show off there epeen =/= money in DBs bank. Look at the dil that people in this very thread have given DB by clearing the Dabo Board ;)

    You have a thread two down from this asking if you will pay $$$$ to have special alternate artwork on characters. That is way worse of a thing and yet the same people have no problem with it.

    When I first started playing, this was the kind of thing that bothered me not because I ever had any delusions of being First to Max anyone or anything, but just because it underscored the gap between the Haves and Have Nots that made a lot of the game feel out of reach to me. Then I made my peace with a lot of the game being out of reach to me.

    Having said that, now that the event 5* is awarded at the end of the previous week's event and 1500 players have the chance to go into the event with that crew member FE and anywhere from 1/5 to IMM, I think not adding them to the Dabo table until the store reset on Monday would be reasonable.
