Snap. I was several variations on Bytor on several forums eons ago.
Yeah, Bytor was my first ever screen name and it was a 50/50 proposition that it would already be taken when I joined a new community. Even variants like Bytor2112 was usually taken as well. I switched to Binaural which was usually free, but people kept spelling it wrong, plus it just never felt right because some people thought I was a fan of the actual audio phenomena instead of the Pearl Jam album, so I tried OutlawTorn. I could usually get away with that, but as Metallica is pretty popular the odds of somebody already having that grew over time, so a change was needed. To date I have never encountered another Bylo Band, so I'm happy with it.
As an aside, I was using the name OutlawTorn on an R.E.M. community fan page back in 2002, and it was on that community's forum that I met my future wife! We actually "dated" long distance for years, with frequent plane trips and all of that. Thankfully, we live in the same place now, I know the kids at least appreciate that

I will start with digitial. In high school a few friends and I were really into Playstation RPGs like Final Fantasy VII and VIII (I beat VII 3.5 times - one of my games glitched halfway through and I had to start over) andother games like Chrono Cross and Star Ocean 2. In college pretty much my entire dorm floor were all a loose collection of cooperative Diablo II online players, and that nearly caused several of us to be removed as we played FAR too much. One friend actually did have his parents pull him out because he played too much! I then transitioned to WoW back in Vanilla as was the primary healer in our guild (Troll Priest named Binaural) on the....I forget server, but our guild name was Prolong the Torment and we were a semi-serious guild that ran lots of dungeons for fun, and we were affiliated with one of the BIG server guilds and would regularly fill in with them on their raids. I've come and gone with WoW several times since, but it just never catches my interest anymore as it is too much of a streamlined treadmill now. I've also played KOTOR about 10 times, splitting time equally between light and dark side, and also KOTOR 2 at least 6 times (I enjoy KOTOR 2 much more, but the lack of a proper ending does leave one feeling unfulfilled). I may be forgetting some, but those are the biggies.
As for tabletop, hooo boy, where to start? I guess this simple answer is that every 2 weeks we host a Game Night at our home, and friends come over and we play all manner of games. I have all of the Dominion expansions (except the new one, Renaissance) SLEEVED (seriously, I've probably got a couple hundred bucks invested in JUST sleeves for my Dominion cards!) and loads of other games like Ticket to Ride, Settlers, Legendary and all the expansions, Smash Up and all the expansions, Kingdom Builder, Small World, Tsuro, Quarriors, Marvel Dice Masters, and TONS more! Our friends also bring over games they have that I do not, and yeah, we play games all day! I also was in a multi-year D&D campaign in college (3rd ed) and a homebrew RPG in the style of AD&D that was created by one of my housemates.

Alice In Chains was the last great guitar metal band. It was tragic when Layne Staley died. He was an innovator, especially with his constant harmonizing. I met REM while Bill Berry was still the drummer. It was not soon after that he had the anyeurism. Sad state of affairs too but they kept pressing on and every album they made was better than the one before.

That is tricky because the later expansions have really changed how the game plays. Although for my money, I still think Chapel from the base set is the best card ever printed.
Here however is my all-time favorite Dominion card. I have never lost a game that featured it!
Jack is simply amazing. He obviously works best in a Big Money strategy, but he has a very unique way of negating almost all the brutal attacks in the game. If your opponent makes you discard a bunch of cards with things like Militia or Torturer, Jack lets you draw back up to 5 cards. Somebody handing out curses, no problem as Jack lets you trash stuff! Jack also gains you a silver every time you play him AND he even lets you occasionally discard victory cards from the top of your deck if you get lucky! He wins games all by himself, and there is even a Big Money variant named Double Jack that basically boils down to this:
Step 1: Buy 2 Jack of all Trades.
Step 2: Buy the most expensive coin you can afford each turn.
Step 3: Buy provinces every chance you get.
Step 3A: If the game lasts long too long, buy a third Jack of all Trades.
Step 4: Win the game.

Have you ever listened to the band Down? They are a southern metal super group made up of guys from Pantera, CoC, and other groups. Their guitar work is pretty spectacular.

I seem to have managed to not address Grand Market Apologies.
Grand Market is a really powerful card, and in the right deck it can fuel some crazy turns. I do not feel however that it is great on its own, as the other 9 kingdom cards present will have a great impact on how playable Grand Market will be. For example, if Grand Market is out with Bishop, I'm probably going Bishop. Grand Market gets so much better the longer the game lasts though, so if it looks like the game will not end quickly, Grand Market is absolutely a card worth building an engine around.
I need to break out Dominion again.
Pandemic has been taking over my game nights as the collaborative aspect is more appealing to new players.

Pandemic has a...strange relationship with our play group. We have one friend who has a MUCH more powerful affinity for Pandemic than the rest of us, and plays it all the time at home. As such, when he comes (he is not a regular) we end up playing it or one of the later version with extra stuff, and for the most part we all sit around while he basically plays our turns for us. It's like yeah, that is a good idea, but our idea wasn't bad either and this IS supposed to be cooperative, yes?
Regarding Settlers, IMO it is not a proper game unless at least one player grinds up 8 sheep to make a road!
Speaking of cooperative games and looping in Star Trek, I recommend you try out Star Trek: Five-Year Mission.
In this game you and up to 6 friends assume the role of either a TOS or TNG main crew, and your goal is to roll dice, resolve various color alerts, keep the ship in good repair, and try and live as long as possible! Along the way certain alerts will prevent the players from communicating until resolved, some will impose a timer, some will chain into other alerts which can damage the ship, it really does simulate the chaos of a typical Star Trek voyage! It is a dice game so there is a strong RNG presence, but it is a lot of fun once you've played a few times, the first few times we tried we got UTTERLY slaughtered!

The solution is for the rest of you is to download the Pandemic App, play the crap out of it and beat the game on Legendary. It’s only 7 Epidemics so it’s not too hard. Then all of you show your achievements to the other dude.

Well, the other dude is a good friend of mine, he just has an unfortunate tendency to take over a few cooperative games, and truth be told, so do I I usually do it though in Star Trek: Five-Year Mission, where I try and play as the captain so at least I have an excuse!

1. I LOVE Rush! I have all of their albums, including all the live albums. It may be accurate to say they are my favorite band, although that changes from time to tine.
2. Yes, I saw them at The Gorge in George on the "Snakes and Arrows" tour. They opened for themselves!
Rush is my favorite band. I've been teaching myself guitar and playing some riffs like the intro to Spirit of the Radio, 2112 Overture, and Closer to the Heart. Fun tunes.

But, to give you something in the meantime to chew on, I have not tried in a couple of years but when I was younger, if I properly warmed up, I could actually hit that high note on Aha's "Take on Me". The first time I did that for my wife I did not prepare her first, we were in the car with the kids driving to a local restaurant for dinner, and when that song came on I just went for it 100% and she just sat there with a permanent look of shock on her face

Avery Brooks. I think we'd be able to pass the time by just chatting, singing, telling stories, etc. Maybe it is just my American bias, but Mr. Brooks seems infinitely more approachable and down-to-Earth. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'd just stand there dumbstruck if I ever met Mr. Stewart!
Yeah, Bytor was my first ever screen name and it was a 50/50 proposition that it would already be taken when I joined a new community. Even variants like Bytor2112 was usually taken as well. I switched to Binaural which was usually free, but people kept spelling it wrong, plus it just never felt right because some people thought I was a fan of the actual audio phenomena instead of the Pearl Jam album, so I tried OutlawTorn. I could usually get away with that, but as Metallica is pretty popular the odds of somebody already having that grew over time, so a change was needed. To date I have never encountered another Bylo Band, so I'm happy with it.
As an aside, I was using the name OutlawTorn on an R.E.M. community fan page back in 2002, and it was on that community's forum that I met my future wife! We actually "dated" long distance for years, with frequent plane trips and all of that. Thankfully, we live in the same place now, I know the kids at least appreciate that

I will start with digitial. In high school a few friends and I were really into Playstation RPGs like Final Fantasy VII and VIII (I beat VII 3.5 times - one of my games glitched halfway through and I had to start over) andother games like Chrono Cross and Star Ocean 2. In college pretty much my entire dorm floor were all a loose collection of cooperative Diablo II online players, and that nearly caused several of us to be removed as we played FAR too much. One friend actually did have his parents pull him out because he played too much! I then transitioned to WoW back in Vanilla as was the primary healer in our guild (Troll Priest named Binaural) on the....I forget server, but our guild name was Prolong the Torment and we were a semi-serious guild that ran lots of dungeons for fun, and we were affiliated with one of the BIG server guilds and would regularly fill in with them on their raids. I've come and gone with WoW several times since, but it just never catches my interest anymore as it is too much of a streamlined treadmill now. I've also played KOTOR about 10 times, splitting time equally between light and dark side, and also KOTOR 2 at least 6 times (I enjoy KOTOR 2 much more, but the lack of a proper ending does leave one feeling unfulfilled). I may be forgetting some, but those are the biggies.
As for tabletop, hooo boy, where to start? I guess this simple answer is that every 2 weeks we host a Game Night at our home, and friends come over and we play all manner of games. I have all of the Dominion expansions (except the new one, Renaissance) SLEEVED (seriously, I've probably got a couple hundred bucks invested in JUST sleeves for my Dominion cards!) and loads of other games like Ticket to Ride, Settlers, Legendary and all the expansions, Smash Up and all the expansions, Kingdom Builder, Small World, Tsuro, Quarriors, Marvel Dice Masters, and TONS more! Our friends also bring over games they have that I do not, and yeah, we play games all day! I also was in a multi-year D&D campaign in college (3rd ed) and a homebrew RPG in the style of AD&D that was created by one of my housemates.

What is the most OP Dominion card and why is it the Grand Market? (Full disclosure: we only have a couple expansions, so there may be others that I’m not aware of.)
Alice In Chains was the last great guitar metal band. It was tragic when Layne Staley died. He was an innovator, especially with his constant harmonizing. I met REM while Bill Berry was still the drummer. It was not soon after that he had the anyeurism. Sad state of affairs too but they kept pressing on and every album they made was better than the one before.
That is tricky because the later expansions have really changed how the game plays. Although for my money, I still think Chapel from the base set is the best card ever printed.
Here however is my all-time favorite Dominion card. I have never lost a game that featured it!
Jack is simply amazing. He obviously works best in a Big Money strategy, but he has a very unique way of negating almost all the brutal attacks in the game. If your opponent makes you discard a bunch of cards with things like Militia or Torturer, Jack lets you draw back up to 5 cards. Somebody handing out curses, no problem as Jack lets you trash stuff! Jack also gains you a silver every time you play him AND he even lets you occasionally discard victory cards from the top of your deck if you get lucky! He wins games all by himself, and there is even a Big Money variant named Double Jack that basically boils down to this:
Step 1: Buy 2 Jack of all Trades.
Step 2: Buy the most expensive coin you can afford each turn.
Step 3: Buy provinces every chance you get.
Step 3A: If the game lasts long too long, buy a third Jack of all Trades.
Step 4: Win the game.
Absolutely love Jack of all Trades!

Have you ever listened to the band Down? They are a southern metal super group made up of guys from Pantera, CoC, and other groups. Their guitar work is pretty spectacular.
I seem to have managed to not address Grand Market
Grand Market is a really powerful card, and in the right deck it can fuel some crazy turns. I do not feel however that it is great on its own, as the other 9 kingdom cards present will have a great impact on how playable Grand Market will be. For example, if Grand Market is out with Bishop, I'm probably going Bishop. Grand Market gets so much better the longer the game lasts though, so if it looks like the game will not end quickly, Grand Market is absolutely a card worth building an engine around.
Pandemic has been taking over my game nights as the collaborative aspect is more appealing to new players.
Edit: and I am not murdering party guests because they refuse to trade sheep.

Pandemic has a...strange relationship with our play group. We have one friend who has a MUCH more powerful affinity for Pandemic than the rest of us, and plays it all the time at home. Regarding Settlers, IMO it is not a proper game unless at least one player grinds up 8 sheep to make a road!
Speaking of cooperative games and looping in Star Trek, I recommend you try out Star Trek: Five-Year Mission.
In this game you and up to 6 friends assume the role of either a TOS or TNG main crew, and your goal is to roll dice, resolve various color alerts, keep the ship in good repair, and try and live as long as possible! Along the way certain alerts will prevent the players from communicating until resolved, some will impose a timer, some will chain into other alerts which can damage the ship, it really does simulate the chaos of a typical Star Trek voyage! It is a dice game so there is a strong RNG presence, but it is a lot of fun once you've played a few times, the first few times we tried we got UTTERLY slaughtered!

Before my SO I was obsessed with Settlers, but then he introduced me to Dominion and I was hooked. Pretty sure he got sick of it, and he has since introduced me to many, many games. The current obsession in our house is Terraforming Mars. Ever played it?
Actually, yes I have! Once, VERY badly. Our friend brought it over for Game Night a month ago and we "played" it, only I later learned after watching a few tutorials that we did literally EVERYTHING wrong, so it would also be accurate to say I've never played it properly!
