Well this is dumb. I bought the deal, even though 10x10s are almost always useless to me (as in today - zero crew I could use), and didn't get Annorax, which was entirely why I'd taken the leap.

    That ain't right, man.
  • ..........and tomorrow DB will be removing from your inventory the "Ooops Annorax".............

Well in that case they can return my $$$ then. I only bought the 10 x10 pack bcuz of the report of annorax included from my Fleetmates. I thought DB was giving us a nice surprise un-advertised but included gift.

Woke up 1.5 hours ago and still trying to kick loose the cobwebs, but if I understand this correctly some people were given a free copy of Annorax and others were not?!

Not "free", you still had to pony up the DYC cost. But it was offered without dropping an actual Annorax.

At least, that is what I can tell from the activity above.

No, from what I heard from other fleetmates is they got an actual one and it also triggered the DYC.

I apparently bought it within the window where it was still dropping an Annorax, as mine is now 3/5* L1 instead of 2/5* with only buying the 10 for $10. No DYC because I am still in cooldown from getting the threshold Gangster Kirk.

I got one in my crew quarters AND the DYC.

"Free" offer for DYC on Annorax, not free copy of him.

My Annorax didn't come from the DYC offer. I had the Double Your Crew offer pop up after I bought the 10x10 deal and opened a couple of packs, I checked my crew quarters and I suddenly had an Annorax, but I did NOT buy the DYC offer.

I bought and didn't receive an Annorax.
  • I bought yesterday, picked up a begold to get a third star on Jazz Odo.

And then I got the Annorax DYC. At first I thought it was your traditional DB SNAFU and Odo had triggered the wrong DYC, but going into my roster, lo and behold, was another Annorax.

    I can live with that.

I do not believe this is correct, people are reporting that a phantom Annorax just appeared in their crew rosters. If this is true, I hate to say it given my position as being the person usually trying to calm the masses, but this would constitute a situation whereby I'd be very vocal in demanding an equitable resolution because giving away 5* crew for free is absolutely a field-tilting mistake that MUST be corrected.

Not free, paid money to get the 10x10 packs. Annorax was just a happy accident.

Also, hardly "field-tilting" mistake when Annorax has been event crew all of one time and it was a different version of him.

I honestly do not know what they will do, but some solution will be required, because this is completely unfair.

The interesting part is that unlike most situations that creates two groups (ie those effected and those not effected), this actually created at least three groups: those that bought the offer and DID get the free Annorax, those that bought the offer after DB "fixed" it and DID NOT get the free Annorax, and those who did not buy the offer and DID NOT get the free Annorax.

This dynamic will make any fix or redress much more complicated, and arguably more important because of the decision to "fix" the offer rather than take it down.

But make no mistake, this MUST be addressed officially, and a solution MUST be found, because it is not fair to accidentally give away such a good crew card for free while preventing a significant percentage of the playerbase from getting it. This free Annorax will impact future events so something MUST be done.

Actually four groups. Those who bought the offer EXPECTING to get an Annorax and didn’t get one

I bought the 10 for $10 and did receive and Annorax. I didn't get the DYC because of a previous legendary drop still in cooldown.
I am completely okay with a free Annorax (putting mine at 4/5). However, it is NOT okay that the "fix" was staggered and it segmented the playerbase into the groups @ByloBand and @Banjo1012 stated. Annorax, having a 3779 voyage total, decent traits, and 2 skills over 1000 (with starbase bonuses) is cause enough, in my opinion, to merit something to actually be done by DB--not just addressed as an accident and swept under the rug, especially since it was directly tied to a real-money purchase.

Yup, that is 100% correct, thank you. I figured I was missing something so I used the "at least three" qualifier, but your fourth group is legit, and probably the people most upset.
    Banjo1012 wrote: »
They should have just left him in for the duration of the offer. Who bought it would have got him and who didn’t wasn’t going to buy it anyway

This is also 100% correct. While this solution still created a problem that needed to be adressed, this would have made the solution FAR less complicated, as it halved the groups involved from four to two.

Same here. The DYC appear to me because in one pack I get a begold (and the final star for Seven of Nine), and then I checked my crew quarters and I found Annorax.

You guys crack me up. Every time you make a mountain out of a molehill, it makes it that much harder for DB to take its players seriously when something actually "unacceptable" happens.

Either you got what you paid for (10x10), got what you paid for and 1/5th of a crew with average power who's been 2x bonus in 1.3% of events.

Or you tried to game the system and buy an offer expecting something that was not advertised. If you bought it expecting Annorax, you knew what you were doing and lost this time. There's no pleading ignorance when this just happened a couple weeks ago with Georgiou and yesterday's offer said nothing about an Annorax.

At the risk of sounding preachy,

Ok, continue heralding the apocalypse now.

They didn't accidentally give away Tosk on accident, they accidentally gave away the current 40th best crew for voyages.

You make some good points, but this was not an insignificant mistake, and the decision to "fix" it partway through only muddled it further.

Except that's Beloved Annorax, not Annorax. He's sitting at the edge of the Top 100 at #99 currently. Still not peanuts, but hardly a beast.

    Good point, I'm sorry.

As mentioned, it was only Olde Annorax - and also, he was only at one star, not five stars.

Funnily enough, I'm glad I missed out! Now I don't have a crew slot sucked up by a 1/5 Annorax who is unlikely to help me much, if ever, but whom I'd still be unable to bring myself to airlock. He'd just sit there, next to Thrax #6, indefinitely...

This is the second time they've done this in the past couple weeks. They brushed it under the rug last time, and I'm sure that's what they'll do this time.

Beyond the unfairness of it, how is their pack QA process so poor that an identical mistake is made 2 weeks after it was made the first time? Was anything change after the previous screwup to prevent it from happening again?

Agreed, just as you can say it was people trying to game a bug, equally it drove sales.

Everyone who bought the 10x offer should get an Annorax, and DB should learn that occasionally sweetening the pot on the quiet is a neat marketing technique, depending on the legality of doing so.
