Does anyone know if you have to claim your McCoy's by tomorrow by noon Eastern time or else they will disappear? I don't have quite the space to claim them yet. Thanks
The one in the Portal I believe is 90 days? The Achievements should stay until 11 February.

Given that they are “temporary Achievements”, I would claim them before February 11th, which is the last day to complete the required set of tasks. 🖖

I advise against waiting until the last day, but you do have some time to make a little room.

Are you talking about the one in portal. I already claimed him, but I believe there was a 99 day counter on him. So look at him you should see how many days you got to claim him. I do not know if there is any type of limit on the achievements.
Edit: Scott answered this above. So in reading above answers Feb. 11th on achievements but that should mean Feb. 11th at noon eastern time (12pm est) they will be gone. That is the reason for the advice of doing it a day sooner.
If you claimed the one from the Portal, can you claim the Achievement ones into "overflow"? Or is that one of the Crew things you cannot do, if you are full? Most of the time, you can claim a Fusable copy into the excess Crew, then Fuse off the copy you already have...........
Example: Unless they fixed it, previously, if you had the V.I.P. Doubler on Daily Sign In Reward, and you only had one open Slot, you would not get second copy of the Crew.

When I claimed my McCoys from achievements they went straight into my overflow.
Though I cannot remember if my claim from the portal was overflow. But I think it was, just not sure. Also, I did claim my portal McCoy first.

If they go into your overflow, then you can easily fuse them up. Unless you're looking to have four McCoys at one star, there isn't really an issue.

This has never happened. When you claim the daily reward they go into crew slots or overflow. I've never seen a crew get lost that way and I'm always at capacity.

I haven't seen it, either. Was going by what the Wiki said.
If you are one below capacity and you attempt to claim crew via Daily Rewards on your VIP double reward day, you will only get one copy of that crewman.
You may still be able to get crew from the Time Portal above your capacity; however you will not be able to use, train, or equip items to those crew. Such crew will also be automatically dismissed if you are not at or below capacity within 7 days.
Note that locked crew may still be fused as long as one copy of the crewman is unlocked.

Interesting Scott. This is talking about that daily reward. I did not know this could happen. Not sure if it ever happened to me. Basically we might only get one copy of crew (losing are extra VIP copy) if claimed with only one crew slot open.
I do believe some of the rewards earlier in the month had a lower VIP level.
You earn VIP when you buy with cash game deals.
If you have never spent money on game you would be VIP 0.
The best way to start spending on game is the monthly pass and the Campaign second tier, the one with the legendary.
The monthly pass requires you to collect it from your achievement list every day.
And the campaign requires you to complete the achievements almost everyday of the month. Both are great deals. So, if and when you can afford it.
Some fleets require their members to be VIP 0 to be a member. So make sure your not planning on being a member of them or if you already are, you would have to leave their fleet if you spend money.
My guess, is some people are running a second account and keeping it VIP 0. So that many of these fleets might be composed of these 2nd accounts. But I know their are some who have been successful and doing it by not spending money and only have one account.
I got to thinking... DB put in the effort to make this coding, which I presume was part of the purchase by WRG / TP. It's a pity that temporary achievements have not been used or developed since this one use. I'm bumping the thread, just in case anyone wanted to add anything. I've seen a couple fresh faces around the forum who may not have known it was a thing that happened.
I wish that some of the ideas in here we enacted to break some monotony.

Maybe certain numbers of The Artifact Schemes for certain Achievements, during the Event. So we don't end up with 95% of the players stuck with it at Level One until it gets added to the Portal Drops. Maybe enough on top of the 600 in Threshold, to get to around Four or Five?

Oh man. I didn't understand gauntlets when this was running so didn't really do them! Kicking myself that I could have had a copy of 5* McCoy for completing just 100 gauntlet rounds...
Oh well... a nice reminder of how much I've 'learned' while I've been playing!

The schematic economy is broken, imo. It sure wouldn't hurt my feelings to use this tool to help fix it.

Yeah the whole maxing ships thing is so out of whack. I feel like starting a campaign to get them into campaigns. I’ll call it the Campaign Campaign with a side of update them in Dabo

wouldn't it be great if there was some sort of starbase room we could use to turn rations into ship schematics for all of the random ships we have unfinished? you could call it something like "Utopia Planetia" just make sure to keep the synths away!

Yeah, having the schematics in the Dabo Wheel (and, to a lesser extent, voyages) are the only way to increase the levels on ships in any realistic way. The difference in how quickly I finished off ships that can be on the wheel, and those that aren't, was several months.
