Today I managed to snag my first 'clown' through a dilemma. Yipee!

I have just one question though. I was under the impression that he was only available as a special drop in voyages yet the BBoBA DataCore lists him as being available through the Portal also; which is true?

Inquiring minds need to know ...

also: BBoBA DataCore lists him as having only 2 uses during a battle yet the Wiki says he gets 3.

he isn't in the portal, he will only drop from voyages. the game shows he has 2 uses per battle.

You're conflating DataCore with The Big Book. As Tichy said, his portal status is incorrect at the DataCore and his uses per battle is incorrect on the wiki.

Congrats on acquiring him. Really good arena evasion option.

Sorry, I was under the assumption they were basically 'Siamese Twins' there. My bad!
But in my defense Data Core has the tab that says "big book" so I must have made a logic leap there. In the future I will make sure the proper citation is given.
Maybe Captain Idol (or one of that crew) can change that status when they get bored.

so after everything has been updated - the bbob is still correct as in the clown is the best of the 2 part voyage crew : )

my main problem with those crews is that they are so rare / depending on luck that any account getting them to 4/4 barely has any use for them.

the clown evades this a bit on my 13 months old vip0 account because he has captain arena use there, and some probably slowly fading voyage use.

I see him some on ships in the Arena. Now I know why.

If you've always got voyages running and don't let dilemmas sit for too long, it doesn't take all that long to get them all. I've gotten enough of the 2-dilemma crew that I could have built each one three times over. Yes, most of them aren't any good, but The Clown is the one exception. He's fairly useful. Especially on younger rosters, his Security is quite high. But even with a mature roster he'll still find some use with his low-activation time, high-evasion Arena ability.
