She was an annoying and incompetent idiot.

Did we watch the same Short Trek? I thought Edward was the incompetent and annoying one.

Anyway.. 2 pulls all crud. Its not good enough to spend more. Would rather see a Porthos alone as well.

She lost her ship to the Tribbles. She didn't know how to handle Edward.
Her Emotional Intelligence is below zero.
She is rude, abrasive, cynical toward him and provokes him into the revenge mode.

And even after that DNA manipulation incident her incompetence has allowed Tribbles to overrun the ship.
She had different approaches to the problem
    - she could eject all Tribbles into space
    - she could transport every single Tribble
    - she could use wide range phaser beam
    - she could poison the Tribbles

But no, her approach to the problem was to kill every single Tribble one by one and then blame Edward for her incompetence.

In all fairness, the entire episode was stupid as the tribbles reproduced themselves without food so they created solid matter out of... air? Poisoning only worked for Kirk, unintentionally btw, because they ate there.

They said in the end the tribbles reached Klingon space, so they did not even need air in open space. This whole plot makes absolutely no sense.

Lucero messed it up, but the way the tribbles were designed in this short trek basically there was no way to get rid of them without extincting them, which the viewer would have found unbearable too. She never really had a chance.

What I find sad is how despite Old Trek preaching about the INDIVIDUALITY to someone Edward obviously isn't an individual with his own personality, he is just a label, in this case - ''a white guy''.

Make Edward a girl named Edina and Lucerno a guy in this story and I will still say how Lucerno is a incompetent idiot on his own merit - not because of his race, gender but because he didn't know how to handle Edina and he lost a ship to damn Tribbles.

A captain of the ship is ALWAYS responsible for his ship.

Michael Burnham disobeys orders, her ship is destroyed, and she gets all of the blame. Edward disobeys orders, his ship is destroyed, and he gets none of the blame. I find that quite telling.

Some will try to justify this unequal treatment by pointing to differences in circumstances while ignoring all the similarities but really, no blame for Edward? None? And this viewpoint is held by many who have seen both Discovery and the Short Trek. Burnham was at fault for her wrong actions, but Edward’s female captain was at fault for his.

Burnham didn't start the war and she isn't responsible for the destruction of Discovery.
Who was responsible for the whole war? Prime Phillipa Georgiou, who is the worst captain after Lucerno.

She didn't listen to the Vulcan Hello advice and she has sealed a war with her "we come in peace" speech.

Although the whole Starfleet including Admirals are dumb af in Discovery.

Why in universe they all blame Burnham for everything?
I don't know, probably because writers of Discovery are out of the touch and don't have any idea what they are doing.
