The leadership of DDM should be banned from the game.
TP's customer service needs to change their process for handing over the admiralship of fleets based on a submitted request, especially in light of the blatant strategy of thievery DDM has been employing.
Their actions run contrary to the spirit of the game and should not be allowed going forward.
I notice Dazlaaaaa has rightfully stopped trying to represent them here. I'm sure DDM is preparing some sort of statement that we'll all have to choke down shortly

I have to reluctantly agree. There is a rationale here, which isn’t terrible, that is “we don’t want to leave anyone behind if your fleet admiral isn’t playing.” The DDM method isn’t an appropriate solution, as it seems like it isn’t done with active consent and they are targeting fleets with strong starbases (and established ways of doing things) for their own benefit (however meager).
They are vulture capitalists raiding fleets. The DDM person even uses the word “targeted.” Exploiting a loophole DB made and TP has continued to help the players and using that loophole to hurt players is wrong. Players doing this should be banned as they detract from the game community not add to it.
I am not a big fan of banning people but i think this is 1 exception where it should happen.

What I find most appalling is how they are trying to pass themselves off as saviours who are doing fleets a favour, by stepping in to fill an alleged leadership void.
If fleet members are unhappy with their fleet’s leadership, they can either leave the fleet or request a leadership transfer themselves.
Fleets don’t need to be ‘rescued’ by DDM. The game doesn’t need players like them.
As one of the most active members, and an officer/squadron leader, of the recent hostile takeover, no communication was made with me concerning this takeover. The main point being that DDM has done this many times before but has now found a fleet willing to fight back and not capitulate.
Can you post that you go for very low-level fleets and do the same?? They might appreciate the assistance that you claim to provide.
This happened to me several weeks back. I don't know how they were able to wrestle command of the base I was on.
I ended up leaving. I have since joined a very active and friendly community so I'm at least happy that I was finally given the incentive to leave the moribund base.
But my question remains. How were they able to become admiral, whilst I, a founding member was not?

they came into the fleet noticed the admiral was offline more than 30 days and asked CS to give them admiral level and basically they let it happen
First, I agree that what DDM has been doing is despicable and TP should do everything humanly possible to make it right.
But it got me thinking...
Can we implement some kind of roll-play hostile takeover metric to the game? How about this...
If the Admiral is inactive from the game for a certain amount of time, any existing officer (who in turn needs to have been an officer for a defined amount of time) should be able to perform a coup and take the admiralty.
Well, what if the officers are inactive as well?
Any player (who has been in the fleet for a certain amount of time) can promote themselves to the rank of “Petty-Officer”.
After a certain amount of time, a Petty-Officer gets promoted to Officer. Any officer can demote any Petty-Officer to fleet member at any time.
Think of this process as how officers advance in the Mirror Universe. It totally fits in-game.
And the programming shouldn’t be that difficult to implement. The creation of the new “Petty-Officer” rank would probably take the most programming time.
And if the Admiral is active, all this is moot anyway.
I’d just like to say - thanks everyone for keeping this thread civil so Shan doesn’t have to close it!
Also, DDM - ‘The Borg of STT’ that’s hilarious although i’d much rather watch a movie starring Alice Kridge as the Borg Queen than the leader of DDM as the main villain -
”DDM goes back in time to take over every fleet in STT - Can the crew of the Enterprise stop them in time?!”

I can only imagine DDM's recruiting ads proudly announcing all of their many fleets with high-level Starbases - most of which they never built themselves...
basically CS let it happen with their bad buisness policy regarding inactive admirals
This is terrible. It really annoyed and confused me at the time but I moved on. Do CS understand the stress they are causing their customers. Stress might seem exaggerated but at the time the world was changing in uncertain ways and then this troll took over a fleet where I had friendships, changed its name, threatened us with expulsion of we didn't change our tags and generally had an unpleasant discourse with me. The fleet was Ingress: Enlightened, and we all played another game, had a good community. Like I say, I had moved on but to hear this was sanctioned by CS has brought back the anger.
A much easier solution to the current issue would be to have CS email existing admirals when a ticket for takeover has been initiated. CS has EVERY players email.

And also to inform the officers from that fleet and let them decide how to proceed.
Im generally opposed to banning people for finding exploits in a game, but this is above and beyond.
This tactic of taking over starbases by exploiting a CS provision is perhaps one of the most nefarious, cowardly tactics i have ever heard of.
I am in complete agreement that not one, but all admirals of ddm fleets should be permanently banned from the game.
I would be satisfied with the alternative solution of having all of their crew replaced with 1/5 lvl 1 shinzons, all dilithium, honor, chrons, creds and merits reduced to -0-, and adding code that ensures that any new crew they acquire is immediately converted to a 1* wesley.
TP, please be as harsh as you possibly can on these predatory individuals. They have no business in a robust online gaming community

I don't know why anyone would "need" someone to come in for leadership help. This ins't a game where fleet 'strengh' is based on some cumulative of the fleets stats. So the entire premise is just flawed and a lie to try and seem like they are just trying to help others.
That's fantastic! now let's see how we can keep this from happening again. I applaud everyone and give thanks to you all who made this happen so quickly.
To keep it from happening again adm must not be out 30 days or more. Simple. As for hiding and poaching?????
And in another thread going TP, please give us secondary command fleet officer position with fleet control. This will help also. Maybe an adm is on vaca? Ya know?
The behavior will slow for a moment as they regroup, lay low, then start again in a few months. Unless phu is punished. I hate to say it but i reluctantly agree he should be banned. What will that accomplish? The $$$$ he has spent alot is a waste with no crew starting from scratch because no doubt he will just make more or use another DDM existing. These sort of dishonest power hungry ppl dont just go away. He will resurface.
I am glad THIS community outcry has gotten something done. But it was only because the entire community has freaked out today. They have gotten away with this for 2 yrs. it wont be the last time. Most situations are not made public. Many players dont even come to the forums. They dont know.
Cheap petty people do many questionable actions. These actions are often reprehensible. They do not care due to mental anomalies present in their brain. Get used go it. These type people are everywhere.

wow....knew they wouldn't stay down long but they did it again?!? that quickly?

Sisko posted this on discord and I couldn’t sit here and not do anything.
