Honestly, if i were WRG reading this thread, i probably would be close to stopping to give away anything in this game anymore. 🙄
It‘s up to you if you wanna use some of the „free“ dilithium u got from the temporary achievements for 2x 10 premium pulls or not. Either way, you didn t pay anything of ur own stuff to get it, weren t forced to spend money or
being ripped off at all.
There should be 1000 posts and 4 threads for thanking WRG of making achieving the Legendary Citation so easy, instead. But yeah, complaining about something minor is so much more fun for some people. 😕
Yeah, I like to grouse about stuff in game: but to me, it isn't such a big deal to spend way less in crystals than the achievements give you otherwise to unlock the last one...
I like this batch of Temporary Achievements. They are good. Please, more things like this. Hell, the fact that everything can be gotten without spending a dime is a great thing. You know, instead of having to wait 6-12 months just to have a long-odds chance of maybe getting a crew if you don't want to pay for it on release...

You're right, but this is unlike any giveaway they've ever done before, so I think it's fair to provide honest feedback.
I see it like this... say I'm out driving and see a sign offering a free suit to anybody who stops by the local car dealership and takes a test drive. I was thinking about going in for a test drive anyway and also need a new suit, so in I go. After the test drive, the guy gives me a nice pair of pants, then he asks for the pants back in exchange for the jacket. Now sure, I should be thrilled at getting a free snazzy new jacket for doing something I was going to do anyway, but part of me is bound to be disappointed at not getting the full suit that was being promoted. Again, why not simply advertise a free blazer in exchange for a test drive, to avoid the inevitable sense of let-down when leaving with a full suit isn't even a possibility? I'd still leave with the same 'free' gift as I did, but in that case I'd be full of nothing but happiness and gratitude.
EDIT: It's not that I'm upset or ungrateful, quite the opposite. I just don't understand the rationale behind the structure of these rewards, where a portion needs to be returned to unlock the rest... though I suppose it could be argued that it's not different than an amusement park, where you have to trade in 3 small prizes for 1 medium prize, then 3 medium prizes for 1 large prize... hmmm

While I get what you are saying, the difference (I believe) is that they pretty well spelled out what was required when they announced the awards. It wasn't a surprise, they didn't say you could achieve them all through "free play," but were nice enough to make it so you could "net" free and still hit the top tier on them all.
I get annoyed by a bait and switch as well, but I don't see it here. Hell, this seems like a very, very generous giveaway.

Honest question, can anyone quote for me where WRG said that the achievement rewards/tiers would be "free" or "gift" or "giveaway"? On stream, Ben referred to it as "content". The posts in Starfleet Communications refer to them as "Temporary achievements" and "content".
The "Free Behold Giveaway" was labeled as such and the numerous care packages have been free. Achievements by definition are not free. Did they advertise them as such and I missed it?
The behold is free. Achievements are worked for. They give you the means to finish them all, if you choose, without having spend your own money. It is a nice diversion and I hope they do it again. Maybe over the New Year holidays?

I agree with the posters above that think all the free stuff is great! If one Achievement is behind a spending some Dilithium then it is up to the player to go after it. Getting a free BeGold, and a Legendary Citation for playing a bit is incredible.
If anyone at TP reads this thanks for the effort to program the event. Keep the special Achievements up!
A small suggestion would be to color the temporary Achievements different than Blue (like the way rewards are in the Daily Missions) so they are easy to differentiate and show they are special, this could be help for newish players that have a lot of boxes/Achivements undone....

That would be nice, even with them weighted to the front of the pack. Until I finished the levelling achievement, I had to scroll over and, except for the date, they all look the same. I should be down to one by end of day tomorrow.
There are several little improvements they could make. I'd love an inventory filter for overflow. That way you could see how long until it expires without having to scan all 1000+ items. Never lost anything, but I keep an eye on my ever rotating inventory and either use it or something else to make space.

It could be a way to poll the playerbase on what 10x premium pulls are actually worth to them, which would give them a more honest "response" from way more people than if they asked directly
To those complaining about other peoples comments - This is a discussion forum, don't like the topic then you are free not to read it! I don't think anyones being particularly uncivilised.
Personally I like Barkley's idea - maybe if this format is repeated, the 2x Premium Pulls and 1x Gold citation should be swapped around.
In my - current - favorite game they do such achievement stuff each week. Some of the tasks you can easily finish with your dailies, others you have to spend premium currency on - and there the latter is not even part of the rewards granted before but I guess for some it is worth it anyway.
I really do not get what anyone can complain about here. This is generous, fun and fosters player engagement. I wished WRG did this much more frequently, even if we had to pay some net dil to achieve all of it. Noone is forced to achieve every tier!
Good grief. Either use the extra dil for it or not, but please stop complaining about the structure. It’s futile. LLAP
I don't think you understand how feedback works. If we as players don't like the structure we absolutely should complain about it. Changes don't get made unless we give our thoughts.
Remember those really crappy packs with the new blues in them (Picard and Tuvok)? Those got really bad press for being way too expensive for what they offered. DB lowered the price point in an attempt to make them more palatable but they still weren't worth it so they were scrapped. They've also done away with the No Chance packs they used to offer for most new crew.
With this being described as a giveaway and celebration I think it's ridiculous to be forced to pay for these. No other achievement has ever forced you to do it with dil. The 20-hr voyage one used to but now with voyage tokens being given out in event rewards every week you can do it for free.

Dev 1: Can you believe we still let people spend dilithium on arena tickets? Ridiculous. I’ll bet you $50 not a single person does that in the next 6 months.
Dev 2: You’re on.
Team meeting five months later:
Dev 2: So I have an idea about the temporary achievements reward structure I’d like to fly by you all....
It may be that TP saw people were not buying arena tickets and that this is to encourage them to do so.

I am sure someone did at some point. Like at the end of the month if they needed a touch more schematics to finish a ship. Get people to try something and they may continue doing it.

I don’t see it being a regular thing for a lot of people. There are better ways of spending money than buying ten, twenty, or the current maximum of 160 additional arena tickets every day for a month to make sure you can get that one extra level on a ship. For example, by dousing a wad of cash in gasoline and setting it on fire in a dumpster full of week-old soup.
Chron buys and cadet tickets buys are something I wouldn’t do but can understand others wanting to do. Credit buys and arena ticket buys? No, not outside of very specific and limited circumstances or for people with far more money than sense.
To expand upon my original post, the ONLY thing I didn't like was that there was a Dilithium cost to finish one of the Achievements. The rest is very good. Super easy to finish the Achievement for the Legendary Cite. {That and the Campaign Cite finally Immortalized my Borg Queen.}
One the two 10 Pulls from Scans or Shuttle Missions, whichever gave two Ten Pulls, gave me four back to back Beholds. Two were for for FF 4 🌟 s, but the other two were BeGolds. Second 🌟 for Garak, Elim Garak and a new Crell Mosat. Which I may have misspelled.
