TP this is stupid, there is a serious issue with the event. You have one job to do and omg you cannot even handle that?
It’s not their job to make sure the entirety of the Internet is running. If the issue was limited to their own servers, you would have a fantastic point...but that doesn’t seem to be the case today.
It is nothing to do with 'the entirety of the internet'. Uninstalling and reinstalling works so clearly their server or coding is at fault. Do you work for 'them'?

If uninstalling and reinstalling the game actually fixed this problem, then it wouldn’t be an Internet outage error after all...but I don’t recall seeing anyone solve the problem that way. VPN-ing to a different location did, however, and not all players were affected, which support an Internet outage theory.
Also: no I do not work for them, I just don’t think going “REEEEEEE TP HATES ALL THE PLAYERS” is a reasonable first step to take when a problem comes up. Figuring out why some people are down, whether it’s a geographic thing, a platform thing, a bug, or a server problem, is much more productive.
You know what, there can be different issues at play occurring at the same time.
It is a pain but it happens.
This is the case here:
- some players have difficulty getting the game to load/lag - it works on VPN= connectivity issue outside of our control
- some players are unable to log in on Android only, it is something else, and we are investigating.
There is a reason why I always ask a lot of details, to be able to assess if there are potentially different issues at play.
Other than a brief hiccup at event start yesterday the game had worked fine for me. Until about 5 hours ago, when I also started getting the remote server error.
Good thing, too. I was feeling left out.
For google play there is currently a new version of 7.6.0 available, it contains analytic tools that will hopefully help us identify the cause of various issues.

Uninstalling and reinstalling is what Coomer recommended as it worked for him. It also worked for me, so your recollection is also subjective.

Good news/bad news situation
Good news: We believe we've found a fix for this specific issue, and we have a new client waiting to be released.
Bad news: It is currently in review and waiting for Google approval and we do not know how long that could take.
