So long, and thanks for all the cat pics!
in The Bridge
I really hate "I'm quitting" diatribes, but I've been active on this forum for nearly since launch, so wanted to post a quick goodbye to the friends I've made along the way.
I posted a few weeks ago about my ongoing struggle with game ennui. It culminated this weekend when the idea of even getting enough VP to hit the mega gold felt like a chore.
I realized I'd stopped enjoying the game somewhere along the way, and if a game was no longer fun, there was little point left in continuing. The weekly hamster wheel of events stopped being interesting a long time ago, the lack of any real new gameplay / game modes has meant there's little focus on anything else, and frankly the last few events and characters have even seemed more lackluster than usual. Of course, part of that may be my mindset at the moment. There are other things I could add that contributed to the decision, but they've been well-trodden at this point if you know me.
I've stepped down as Admiral of eXo effective today and am going casual once and for all - which is, despite my many threats otherwise, something I've never actually done.
I'll hang around in retirement mode until I forget to log in one day, or until they add a new Wesley. Or someone holding a cat. Maybe something new will be added - like the much-hyped new game mode - which will renew my interest for a bit, but all-in-all, my time with the game has run its final frontier.
Best wishes to you all this holiday season. And thanks especially to @Shan for putting up with my many years of protests.

This is my Spot Kitty, she passed on Dec 27, 2019 at age 15. She liked to play Star Trek too! After commenting in UC sorry about the spam dots that it was my kitty on the keyboard, Skin of Evil said "its a Cat-Tastrophy".... I have a screen shot of that comment too!
Be well SilverRose, you will be missed!
Honestly, I have to admit I'm in a similar position as you. I'm a day 1 player who is finding the game to be a bit repetitive and grindy. I'm hoping that WRG can find some ways to spice things up and improve quality of life, rather than leave things languishing as more and more long term players leave for greener pastures.
All the best to you and happy holidays!
Remember the announcement said "around Q1" so it could be next week.....or March
The mini event was “late fall”. It doesn’t get any later than this. And COVID delay is not an excuse because that “announcement” was made while COVID was in full force, not a surprise that popped up out of nowhere.
You have perfectly summed up the feeling of all day one players (except maybe Lorca who is incredibly positive about everything )

I'm not a Day 1 Player, but thanks for the compliment all the same.
I do hope WRG makes a significant change to the game that can renew Silver's interest. I think we're due for something. WRG_Ben teased a couple things. It's a shame they couldn't happen sooner, but such is life. Hopefully Silver keeps some connection to the game so if something does change, she can check it out. I'd hate to lose a player like Silver for good.
Hehe, no dream. But by design and features in the current stage, that hub is work in progress still. If it includes more usefulness I will appreciate it, currently not...
