Gauntlet is definitely the weakest mode in the game (followed closely by arena). A quick poll of my squad (tiny dataset) revealed that no one plays Gauntlet more than once a week with the general suspicion being that we play even less than we think.
For us, this game is sustained by Voyages and Events, especially mega events where we've gotten into the tradition of ranking in the 4 events and then splurging on the end of event packs. Voyages used to drive most of our purchasing but they so rarely bring out Voyagers who significantly improve our rosters that we've mostly fallen into the habit of 10hrs and return.
Gauntlet's main problem is that the rewards are bad, but also that the mode just isn't fun. I don't have Red Angel at all (though I have airlocked at least 3 Guinans), and even that isn't a serious incentive for me to play (though it is the reason I play even the very little that I do).
It happens all the time. Have you never played the Gauntlet before? I am curious how serious this thread is given your name... If not serious, well played.
