I am also chiming in to echo the staleness. Collecting cards is OK but I have access to watching Star Trek episodes... So if I want to see Labourer Kirk, I'll just go watch City at the Edge of Forever and pause at the point where Will Shatner makes his gormless face holding a broom.
It's all very well having traits and base skills and abilities, but Voyages were the last thing added that actively utilised those traits and gave benefit for having them.
I've been going since early 2017 (not as long as some of you) and I am currently looking for something other than card collection.

Just thought I would chime in on this one, I have been on over 1 year hiatus. There were perhaps many factors for this:
- Personal Factors (this led me to go cold turkey, so re-integration with my fleet might be awkward)
- The introduction of the wall and privacy concerns (this maybe somewhat abated as i was predominately on IOS platform but question marks remain on this one).
- A knock on affect might have also been the Picard and Discovery series. I see this mainly as hitting the nail in the coffin and it can't really be attributed to the developers, however it is hard to play for characters that don't mean salt to you really. Furthermore it also made me think that I was spending a lot of time on spreadsheets looking to improve my voyages time and really nothing much else changed. The small improvement on a voyage duration felt more like a Pyrrhic victory compared to all the effort put in.
But above all the fact that with over 2 and half years playing this game (mostly enjoyed except for the run up to the end), and now having observed after a year off, there has been no new gaming content over that year, just a small improvement in being able to obtain cards/fusion. Again feels about as good as the voyage improvements I strived for.

I have butted heads with @Darth Skippy before, so that response was a bit surprising, but not really.
well I guess that's a one way street @~peregrine~ , bc I honestly don't remember butting heads with you. I'm sorry if you think I'm your enemy. But then again, my memory isn't what it used to be. In terms of my response, I don't sugarcoat things. I call it as it is. The world isn't rainbows and unicorns, lol.
Once you've been playing this game for a couple years, there really isn't any sense of accomplishment after you've successfully completed the common achievements:
- get 3 stars on all missions
- immortalize all 1-3* crew and the bulk of the available 4* crew (this must be even more frustrating for newer players, given the much larger pool of 4* crew)
- finish most of the personal achievements (all but the last few event rank ones)
- win a gauntlet
- regular 10-hour voyages & all voyage-exclusive crew immortalized
The game definitely devolves into a card collecting game at some point, which is further exacerbated by the limitation of crew slots (so many events I don't even bother getting the new 5* since I don't have the room and hate the idea of constantly freezing 5* crew, or spending dil on crew slots). As the game is currently directed, this is unavoidable, as all players will eventually get to the point when card collecting and competing in the rotation of repetitive events is the only thing left to do.
On one hand, I regularly put new content at the top of my wish list whenever players are surveyed. On the other hand, I have gotten much more play out of this game than I have with any other game (mobile or console). Having said that, I have found my interest significantly waning over the past year, mainly out of boredom and the stale sense of constant repetitiveness (and the feeling that every recent enhancement in the game has been done less for gaming reasons and more as monetizing incentives).
The most frustrating part for me is that I do still see lots of potential for the game, as many good ideas have been discussed here in the forums over the years. However, it is hard to stay excited when the game's owners reiterate over and over that the actual gaming stuff is not even on their radar as a priority for development.

I'm glad this thread exists because in another thread, all is well with CCG and allegedly I am in a minority of one for wanting more to do with the cards we have.
Yes, in earlier stages there was a mix of want (favorites from the shows) and need for cards. We needed good Gauntlet crew, power bases for daily shuttles, deep (bonus) squads for shuttle events, specific crew to clear parts of the map, fitting cadets even, later Voyages also gave a need for more cards etc. I enjoyed it much to see my crew get stronger and stronger step by step. To slowly get more efficient in all parts of the game.
had some interesting visions for the future: Like say fleet battles for Deep Space Nine.
Now many veterans may want a specific card, but unless something changes the need factor is gone. While there were many great improvements over the years more to do for the cards we have also for me should be the top priority. Also since this is kinda a niche game. Unlike with many others we will not have masses of new people joining every month, many users are very loyal, long-term ones. And WRG has to find a way to keep their interest.

Nah, we’re good, @Darth Skippy . It was a while ago, and now it’s water under the bridge. “Rainbows and unicorns” made me smile, so thanks for that, too.

Been lurking on this particular thread. I have an arguably unhealthy passion for this dinky little game, and I’d like to see it thrive. I’m one star away from completion of all missions, and no missions have been added since I began playing. I’ve brought up the idea of new missions more than once, and have generally been met with, “HURRRRR MISSIONS ARE BORING IT’S JUST MORE OF THE SAME DURRRRRR” (paraphrased [slightly]). I think @~peregrine~ is basically touching on what concerns me- Nothing new to do. As a spectrum kid I’m a fan of daily routine, but lets put some meat on these bones of the game.

This is my exact sentiment. There seems to be ZERO emphasis on "gaming" development. An excellent way to shed the portion of your playerbase who actually want to, you know ... game. And that's increasingly frustrating.

That's super. Thanks for the information. Hopefully now that she's on board we can look forward to some of her ideas and developments being progressed!
I have stopped spending money and reduced time in the game. I can achieve 10 hour voyages without effort. I have beat everything to beat. I can get top thousand in any event without using up all my stockpiles. But there is nothing left to do on a regular basis. This happens a little in any game, I suppose. But even in Fallout Shelter when waiting for teams to return, I can manipulate the screen and make people go places. I can sit around for a few minutes and deal with incidents. I'll win all of them without any real risk, of course, but But still it is something. I've actually spent money in this "game" but cannot do anything with the results. I'm still "playing" the game, but I lost all desire to spend the endless hours I was spending. That is probably a good thing.
It definitely wasn't a card game since we only had like 25 slots at the start and no freezing option. It was complete missions and then months later, send shuttles to win events. Fleet vs fleet battles like other games could be fun, just don't know what the mechanic for that would be.
I just recently started playing, and on the contrary, I really like Dailies
And as for me, all the events are also quite interesting.
sorry you got bored

Sorry if this is a hijack, but lots of good things in here. Figured I'd throw in my hat.
Suggestion taken from another game...
If TT and the discord are featured communication, go ahead and fold them in. Mention the discord in the game and give a link to join it. Just don't make it a pop up offer, please. If you join it, you get 500 dilithium.
I guess you could do something similar with TT and if your YouTube account tied to your Google Play account subscribes, you get an in game reward. Not sure about linking between accounts on other platforms.
-decrepit legendaries on voyages
-new missions, especially with a themed event to open it up like mentioned before
-new difficulty level on existing episodes
Those are all no-brainers, IMO.
Other things I keep mulling over...
-Limited time missions
Maybe between events, run a set of missions (5?) that give equipment for the next event's featured crew. Ranges from faction items to a piece of high level equipment. Minor tweaks to numbers, bonus traits, locked nodes, and rewards between events.
-Armada
Collaborative fleet event. Send one ship and bridge crew out. Either make it fleet vs fleet where people pick their battles in rounds to build points, or make it where there is a common enemy (ex. Rogue squadron from different timeline has found themselves cut off from command and surrounded by the a strange alternate universe. All they have left to go on is their last order and it was to destroy faction X's homeworld at any cost)
-Escorts/sister ships or shared voyage crew
Some way to help newer players on voyages.
Escorts/sister ships-> have squad leaders build an escort. It would be a ship staffed as normal for voyages. It travels with any squadmate's voyage while active offering it a boost equivalent to 1/10 the voyage scores.
Shared voyage crew-> let admirals share one crew and squad leaders share one. Level X and below gets to use both. Above level X and below level Y only gets to use the admiral's share. Above that, you're on your own.
I just sent a suggestion to Player Support a few days ago.
I'm a long term player (like you folks I see posting here) and the game really starts to drag at the top. Having most 4* and below crew immortalized, there's not much to do except play in the (often grindy) weekly event and do dailies.
I just hope they start introducing some 5* crew into regular game play so I can moving some of my FE 5* that are clogging up my roster into the freezer. It would also give me another reason to keep playing the game (ie. collecting crew).
Another long term player here (since 2016) - I’m playing every day and yes it gets grindy. I like the idea of introducing old legendaries into things like voyages, perhaps after the 8 or 10 hour mark or whatever. I’ve got a bunch of old legendaries that I’d like to finish and freeze. They are definitely not candidates for citation or crew retrieval. I am looking forward to the marketplace to exchange polestars though.
Everyone will be selling the same Polestars and likely buying the same ones. Who wants my 10x human, 15x Federation, my 14x Starfleet? I'd like Automated Unit.

Welcome aboard! I don't dispute that the game is entertaining for new or medium term players. There's still lots to do and lots of things are readily achievable. The main issue is for long term players (like myself and others posting here) where there is little to do at the top and it's extremely tough to obtain 5 star crew without essentially paying money to gamble on loot boxes. If you take collecting crew out of the game, there's not much for long-term players to do except for daily missions and compete in the (often grindy) weekly events, so that's why we are (pleading?) for some changes to the game mechanics.
I don't mean to discourage you (in some ways I kind of envy you getting to explore the game anew). Good luck on your journey, though!

I know that this should be posted in “Make It So”, but here’s an idea:
Galaxy Map expedition. Visit every planet/location to do/get stuff. At the end of the grand tour, we gain entrance to the Beta Quadrant.
