Interesting Discovery looks like it may not have another season. Because of losing Netflix backing which had allowed them do what ever they want.
Now they are already selling the costumes from Discovery. But they could always wear the emperors new clothes😉
Paramount bought out Netflix to bring Discovery inhouse. They're not about to cancel it for losing Netflix backing before Paramount+ even launches in most of the world.
If you're getting your news from the site I suspect you are, he's been claiming Discovery is about to be cancelled every season. Given his track record, a claim of Discovery being cancelled is the biggest proof that it will continue

I agree, this is a sign of confidence, not the lack of it.
I strongly suspect CBS/Paramount considers DIS a success. Even if I'm incorrect, I think DIS is likely to stick around for a few more seasons. It looks like they're working towards having new Trek releasing year-round, which will require 4-5 active series, and it's a lot cheaper to keep a show going than start a new one.
I also think we're likely to see DIS and PIC spawn spin-offs in their time-lines, although possibly not concurrent to these shows.

Haha, same people say Discovery will get cancelled every year. Eventually they have to be right even if the show went 10 seasons.
